Suns vs. Bucks Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread
Milwaukee is coming off a rare 127-115 loss at the hands of the Denver Nuggets on Friday night but that was just their seventh loss in 48 games this year. The Bucks will look to get back on track and start another win streak when they host the Phoenix Suns on Super Bowl Sunday. Milwaukee has yet to drop back-to-back games so far this season. In fact, they’ve only lost twice in the span of four games once and that happened at the start of the season when they opened 2-2. Can the Bucks get back on track and cover a big number over Phoenix?
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
There might not be a worse place in the NBA for Phoenix to begin a three-game road trip. The Bucks are a league-best 22-3 at the Fiserv Forum this season. The Suns are just 11-11 on the road. Phoenix has been good against Eastern Conference opponents this season with a 9-6 record. Devin Booker has gone head-to-head with Giannis Antetokoumpo three times and Booker’s Suns have the edge 3-2.
The last time the Bucks lost a game, they went on to win nine in a row after that. Milwaukee is 14-2 in its last 16 games overall. The Bucks are also an impressive 15-4 against Western Conference opponents specifically. Milwaukee has won an incredible 21 of its last 22 home games heading into this contest.
Phoenix Suns
The Suns have been extremely reliant on Devin Booker all season. It’s no surprise that when an opponent is able to slow him down, Phoenix struggles. Booker still had 27 points on 9-of-18 shooting in Friday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder but it wasn’t enough in a 111-107 loss. It certainly didn’t help that Mikal Bridges had two points while going 0-for-5 from the field. Ricky Rubio had eight points on 2-of-8 shooting. The Suns do seem to have found the perfect complement to Booker in Kelly Oubre Jr. With him averaging 18.5 points and Deandre Ayton averaging 17.8, the Suns seems to have a foundation for the future.
At the same time, this young squad still has a lot of work to do before it can keep up with a team as talented as the Bucks. They’re simply not as good defensively as the Suns rank 24th in opponent field goal percentage while the Bucks rank first.
Milwaukee Bucks
After all, the Bucks have just looked simply dominant night in and night out. Sure, they fell just short in a rare home loss to the Nuggets on Friday night. However, they haven’t lost back-to-back games all season and we don’t expect that will start this weekend. Giannis Antetokounmpo will be locked in as he continues his MVP bid. Brook Lopez and Sterling Brown are also capable of more off the bench.
Keep an eye on the injury news as the Bucks played without George Hill and Donte DiVincenzo in their latest outing. That cut down their ball-handlers significantly, which contributed to their loss.
