San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Lakers Prediction, NBA Odds
An 11-game schedule in the NBA on Wednesday night features a double-header on ESPN that concludes with a Western Conference showdown between the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers at 10:00 p.m. ET. Both teams are off to fantastic starts, with San Antonio coming in at 5-1 and Los Angeles boasting a 6-2 record.
The Lakers are 9-2 in the head-to-head series dating back to the 2022-23 campaign and have also won four of the last five contests. However, the Spurs should take some confidence from at least managing a split of last season’s two meetings at Crypto.com Arena. The visitors rolled 126-102 in January before the Lakers prevailed 125-109 in March.
L.A. is a 2.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with the total set at 227.5.
Spurs vs. Lakers NBA Betting Odds
Los Angeles is 4-0 against the spread in its last four overall, 6-1 ATS in its latest seven, and 3-1 ATS in the last four head-to-head meetings. San Antonio is 5-1-1 in its previous seven contests. As for the Over/Under, the Over is 7-1 in the Lakers’ last eight games and 5-1-1 in the previous seven head-to-heads.
In addition to the more traditional lines, the Lakers’ team total is 115.5 (Over -105, Under -120), and the Spurs’ team total is 113.5 (Over -105, Under -120).
San Antonio Spurs
Victor Wembanyama was very good in his first two seasons in the NBA. Year three, though, looks like it could be the year for the 2023 No. 1 overall pick. The transformation from all-star to superstar is happening right before our eyes. Wembanyama is averaging 26.7 points, 13.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 4.7 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game. Keep in mind that this guy is still just 21. He is only getting better and has not even come close to reaching his prime.
Wembanyama is doing it all – and he has to, because the Spurs are depleted. De’Aaron Fox has not yet made his 2025-26 debut due to a hamstring injury, and Dylan Harper will miss at least the next few weeks after suffering a calf strain in this past Sunday’s loss at Phoenix. Luke Kornet, Jeremy Sochan, Kelly Olynyk, and Lindy Waters III are also out.
Los Angeles Lakers
LeBron James has not yet played this season due to a sciatica issue, and the 40-year-old is not expected to take the court until mid-November. In James’ absence and with Luka Doncic having also missed four games, Austin Reaves has gone crazy. The Oklahoma product is averaging 31.1 points, 9.3 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game while shooting 48.9 per cent from the floor. In back-to-back outings against Sacramento and Portland on October 26 and 27, Reaves went for 51 and 41 points.
Reaves’ status may have to be monitored up until game-time on Wednesday, because he is listed as questionable due to a groin injury. Fortunately for the Lakers, Doncic is back. The 26-year-old scored 44 points this past Friday at Memphis before delivering a triple-double with 29 points, 10 assists, and 11 rebounds on Sunday against Miami.
NBA Prediction: Who Will Win Spurs vs. Lakers?
The Spurs are playing well, but they are on the road and also banged up. At some point, you have to think San Antonio is going to have a letdown without both Fox and Harper on the floor. It may come on Wednesday – but only if Reaves suits up for the home side. If that is indeed the case, we’ll go with Lakers 119, Spurs 115.
