A night after falling to Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers, the Spurs return to the Staples Center to take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Spurs are 4-0 against the spread over their last four games despite winning just two of those games outright. San Antonio remains outside the Western Conference playoff picture with the Memphis Grizzlies ahead by three games for the eighth seed.

Gregg Popovich’s crew is just 8-15 straight up away from home this season but 13-9 ATS in the same spot. The Spurs lost twice at home to the Lakers back in November and they failed to cover in either game as home underdogs.

The club is one of the best Over bets in the Association with a 29-20 Over/Under record. It appears like oddsmakers have properly adjusted to the trend. The Under is 4-2 in the Spurs’ last six games.

The Lakers won and covered for just the second time in their last six games after they dethroned the Kings in Sacramento on Saturday night. LA remains in pole position in the West with a 3.5 game lead on the Clippers.

Sports Interaction lists the Lakers as the favourites to win the 2020 NBA championship at +300. Still, 63 percent of SIA bettors are backing the Spurs to cover as 12-point road underdogs against LA tonight.

The Over is 9-2 in the Lakers’ last 11 games and about 60 percent of Sports Interaction’s customers expect this game to go Over the 226.5-point total.

San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs are a team short on upside and few overachievers this season. The San Antonio faithful have to be happy with the performance of Jakob Poeltl. The former Raptor big man is averaging 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in just 16.5 minutes per game.

San Antonio owns a +6.6 net rating when Poeltl is on the floor and a -3.4 rating when he’s on the bench.

Los Angeles Lakers

It was a complete team effort for the Lakers on Saturday night against the Kings. Seven different LA players reached double figures in the scoring column and another finished with nine points.

Rob Pelinka was recently promoted to vice president of basketball operations, but he’ll still call the shots on how the Lakers handle the trade deadline.
