San Antonio Spurs vs. Milwaukee Bucks Prediction, NBA Odds
The San Antonio Spurs roll into Cream City Saturday night looking to snap a four-game losing streak and pick up just their second dub of the season. They’ll face the defending NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks, who have been off since losing at home to Minnesota on Wednesday.
The Bucks are 7-point favourites to win on the NBA odds, with a total of 223.5.
Spurs vs. Bucks NBA Betting Odds
These teams faced off a week ago in San Antonio. Khris Middleton led the way in Milwaukee’s 121-111 win, dropping a game-high 28 points. Doug McDermott led the Spurs with 25 points. Expect a high scoring contest, as eight straight games between these teams have hit the Over.
The Spurs haven’t found the win column since a season-opening victory against Orlando. Dating back to last season, San Antonio is 1-9 straight up in their last 10 games overall and 0-6 SU in their last six on the road. They’re 3-7 SU in their last 10 against Milwaukee, although they’ve managed to go 6-1 against the spread in the last seven of those games. The Spurs are 3-2 ATS for the season.
The Bucks sit at 3-2 on the season and they’ve won 18 of their last 20 home games dating back to last year. They’re 7-2 ATS in their last nine contests, including 3-2 ATS this season. The total has gone Over in six of Milwaukee’s last seven home games against the Spurs.
San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio’s 104-99 loss in Dallas on Thursday could have easily gone the other way. The Spurs led by 10 after the first quarter and took a two-point lead into the half. They slowly eroded from there and entered the fourth quarter tied. A 13-2 Dallas run essentially ended the game. The Spurs shot 44 per cent from the field and went 12-of-30 from beyond the arc, but allowed Dallas to hit 18 3-pointers. Dejounte Murray led San Antonio with 23 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Murray is averaging a team-high 16.8 points per game, along with 9.2 rebounds and 8.8 assists.
Four games into the season, the Spurs offensive numbers have been average to below average. They’re 15th in league scoring with 110 points per game and 20th in rebounding with 45.4 boards. They are, however, second in assists, averaging 27.8 dimes a night. They allow 109.8 points against a night, 18th in the league. For this contest it’s worth noting McDermott (ankle) and Devontae Cacok (personal) are both questionable. Zach Collins (ankle) is expected to be out until sometime in December.
Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks had won two straight before falling 113-108 to Minnesota despite being home favourites. Milwaukee trailed by as much as 20 points in the first half before climbing back to trail by eight at the break. They ended up bringing it back to a two-point deficit in the final minute, but couldn’t seal the deal. The Bucks shot 41.1 per cent from the field, including 14-of-51 from beyond the arc. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 40 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks. Antetokounmpo is currently fifth in league scoring, averaging 27.7 points per game, seventh in rebounding with 11.6 boards and 15th in assists with 6.6 dimes.
Milwaukee averages 114 points per game, eighth in the league, but they’re 23rd in rebounding (44.2 boards) and 20th in assists (22.2). They also give up 115.8 points a night, 25th in the NBA. Jrue Holiday (ankle), Brook Lopez (back) and Bobby Portis (conditioning) are all expected to be out against San Antonio. Donte DiVincenzo (foot) is still without a timeline for his return.
