The New York Knicks continue to jockey for position in the middle of the crowded Eastern Conference standings and enter Saturday night’s contest following a 104-98 loss against Orlando on Wednesday.  Houston is already riding a 13-game losing streak just a month into the season and they sit dead last in the NBA standings.  The Rockets have also been off since Wednesday, when they fell 101-89 to Oklahoma City.

New York is an 11.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with a total of 211.5.

Rockets vs. Knicks NBA Betting Odds

Houston leads the all-time series between these teams 74-73, but it’s the Knicks that have come out on top over the last few years.  New York has won the last three head-to-heads, including a 122-97 blowout the last time they met on May 2.

The Rockets have struggled to gain any momentum this year.  They have just a single win on the season and have lost all nine of their road games.  Covering hasn’t been easy either.  Houston is 5-9-1 against the spread, including 0-5 ATS in their last five games.  The total has gone Under in 11 of the Rockets’ last 16 games.

The Knicks haven’t been great at Madison Square Garden, where they’ve lost five of eight games this year.  They’re 7-8 ATS overall, including 3-5 ATS at home.  The total has gone Under in New York’s last five games and seven of their last eight.

Houston Rockets

Houston’s loss to the Thunder on Wednesday was their 13th straight loss of the year.  Second overall draft pick Jalen Green led the way for the Rockets, finishing with 21 points.  Jae’Sean Tate added 16 points and eight rebounds, while Eric Gordon had 15 points, five rebounds and five assists.  Christian Wood had a game-high 14 rebounds, but struggled shooting, finishing with 10 points.  Wood averages team-highs in points per game (16.1), rebounds (11.1) and blocks (0.7).  Kevin Porter Jr. averages team-highs in assists (5.1) and steals (1.3).  Porter missed Wednesday’s game with a thigh injury and is listed as questionable against the Knicks.

New York Knicks

The Knicks are looking for a bounce-back performance after losing to Orlando as double-digit favourites entering the contest.  New York actually led with under two minutes to play, but a 9-2 run by the Magic sealed the game.  Canadian RJ Barrett had a team-high 17 points while also adding nine rebounds and five assists.  Leading scorer Julius Randle had an off-night, finishing with 13 points and five rebounds.  Randle, who was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player last season, averages team-highs in points (19.8), rebounds (10.0) and assists (5.0).

New York could get a big boost to the lineup against Houston.  Centre Nerlens Noel, who has been out with a right knee injury since Nov. 6, is listed as probable to return on Saturday.  Noel also missed nine games earlier in the year with a left knee injury.  He’s only appeared in four games this season, averaging 4.8 points and 6.8 rebounds.
