Toronto Raptors vs. Phoenix Suns Point Spread: NBA Odds, Prediction
The Phoenix Suns have been bad at basketball for many years but they always seem to bring their A-game for the Raptors. Toronto looks to end an ugly ATS trend against Phoenix on Wednesday night and get back in the win column.
Raptors vs. Suns Betting Analysis
Toronto lost outright 96-91 as a 6-point road favourite against the Clippers on Monday night. The setback drops the Raptors to 17-8 straight up and 14-11 against the spread on the season. Sacramento sacked the Suns 99-92 as a 4.5-point home favourite on Tuesday night. The loss was Phoenix’s fourth straight and ninth in its last 11 games. The Suns are 9-19 SU, 13-14-1 ATS on the calendar.
The Dinos look like fossils against Phoenix over the past few seasons. The Suns are 6-3 SU and a perfect 9-0 ATS in the last nine meetings between the two sides.
Toronto Raptors
Starting centre Jonas Valanciunas had his best game of the year in a losing effort on Monday against the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers. Valanciunas scored 23 points on eight of 10 shooting from the field and grabbed 15 boards along the way.
The Lithuanian was able to see a good chunk of minutes while matched up against Clippers big man DeAndre Jordan. Jordan answered with 14 points, 17 rebounds, four assists and two blocks against the Raptors. It was an ugly result but surely one that would have gone differently if point guard Kyle Lowry didn’t go 0-for-8 from 3-point land.
Phoenix Suns
Phoenix lost its primary offensive playmaker when third-year guard Devin Booker went down with a groin injury. Booker is averaging 24.3 points, 4.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds with a usage rate close to 30 percent.
TJ Warren is attempting to fill the void left by Booker but he’s having a hard time. The bruising small forward scored just 18 points despite putting up 24 shot attempts during Tuesday’s setback at Sacramento.
