Raptors vs. Pistons Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread
The Raptors have reeled off eight consecutive away wins and have identical 17-7 SU records at home and on the road. And that’s bad news for a Pistons team that has gone a dismal 9-16 SU at Little Caesars Arena on the season.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Pistons are probably fortunate to be only five-point underdogs here, although it helps their cause that the Raptors played the night before (prevailing 115-109 in Cleveland.) Toronto is an impressive 6-3 ATS over the course of its nine-game winning streak, and has covered in four of its previous five games against Central Division opponents. On the flip side, the Pistons have gone just 1-5 SU and ATS in their last six games overall.
The total for Friday’s showdown is set at 223, with 63 percent of Sports Interaction bettors leaning toward the Over – and it’s easy to see why given the prevailing trends for both teams. the Raptors have surpassed the total in seven of their previous nine games, and they’re 7-1 O/U in their last eight against Eastern Conference opponents. Detroit, meanwhile, is on a five-game consecutive Over streak during which its games have averaged 231.4 total points.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors are on the verge of a double-digit winning streak, and are in good shape to achieve it based on how they’ve fared against the Pistons already this season. Toronto has a pair of double-digit victories in the series, prevailing 125-113 back on Oct. 30 and 112-99 on Dec. 18. But they might be without center Marc Gasol yet again; he’s nursing a hamstring injury and sat out Thursday night’s victory against the Cavaliers.
Detroit Pistons
The Pistons swept their season series with Toronto last year – but they’d happily accept even one victory this time around. Detroit comes in having lost four straight games and sits 4 ½ games back of the Brooklyn Nets for the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff berth. And while there are a handful of things that have gone wrong, the Pistons’ rebounding tops that list: they enter Friday ranked dead last in the NBA at just 42.3 rebounds per game.
