Raptors vs. Nets Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread
The Toronto Raptors are in good position to finish second in the Eastern Conference standings – they aren’t catching Milwaukee barring a long-term injury to Giannis Antetokounmpo – and the Brooklyn Nets currently sit seventh in the East. They aren’t getting higher than that and probably will stay at No. 7 ahead of No. 8 Orlando. Of course, the No. 2 seed would face the No. 7 in the first round of the playoffs.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
This wraps up the season series with the Dinos looking for the four-game sweep. They beat the visiting Nets 119-118 on Saturday. Fred VanVleet scored 10 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter, and Pascal Siakam hit the tie breaking free throw with 22 seconds remaining. It was Toronto’s 10th consecutive win at home in the series and sixth straight overall vs. Brooklyn. Kyle Lowry was out injured (whiplash) and Terence Davis took advantage with a rare start by pouting in 20 points and eight rebounds.
Caris LeVert led the Nets with a career-high 37 points, while Spencer Dinwiddie had 21 points and 11 assists. He was an All-Star snub. Kyle Lowry was out injured but that was pre-planned.
Toronto is 4-2 against the spread in the past six meetings.
Toronto Raptors
Toronto extended its franchise-record winning streak to 15 – yet is barely gaining ground on the Bucks – on Monday with a 137 -126 home win over Minnesota. Siakam had 34 points. OG Anunoby had a career-high 25 points and tied a career best with 12 rebounds. Lowry was back in a minor surprise and had 27 points and 11 assists. Serge Ibaka was out due to illness and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson got the start. He finished with a season-high 21 points. It was Toronto’s 10th road win in a row. The total has gone over in seven of its past eight games overall.
Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn bounced back from Saturday’s loss to the Raptors with a 106-105 upset win at Indiana on Monday. Not often a team will play back-to-back one-point games. Dinwiddie hit the go-ahead 21-foot jumper with 5.2 seconds left. He was just 4-for-15 on the night and 0-for-7 from deep but still managed 21 points thanks to plenty of trips to the free throw line along with 11 assists. DeAndre Jordan had 11 points and 19 rebounds off the bench. Irving sat again with his right knee sprain and it seems likely that Brooklyn would hold him out Wednesday to have the full break to get healthy. The Nets are 6-1 ATS in their past seven.
