The red-hot Raptors fly into the Lone Star State seeking their 13th win in 14 games and their fifth straight decision over the Mavericks. Dallas’ shaky defence could get tore apart by Toronto’s Top 5 offence.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Raptors opened as 5.5-point away chalk with the total set at 209 on the Sports Interaction NBA odds board.

The Raps downed the Philadelphia 76ers 102-86 on Saturday night and improved to 23-8 straight up and 19-12 ATS on the season.

The Mavericks lost as 1-point away faves against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. Dallas enters Tuesday’s tilt against the Dinos at 9-25 SU and 15-18-1 ATS. The under is 19-14-1 in the Mavs’ first 34 games this season.

Seven of Toronto’s eight outright losses have come on the road this season but the club is still a respectable 11-7 against the number away from the ACC. The Reptiles are 4-1 ATS in their last five trips to Dallas.

Toronto Raptors

NBA Twitter has been skeptical of DeMar DeRozan’s game in the past because of his inability to knockdown shots from 3-point range. The pessimism stems from his preference of shooting long 2s instead of 3-pointers.

It’s a small sample size – but it appears DeRozan is getting over his phobia of the arc. The three-time All-Star followed up a career-high six made triples in a game at Philly on Thursday by knocking down another four on six attempts on Saturday night. He’s hit 13 threes in his last three games and is shooting 43.8 percent from downtown in the month of December.

Dallas Mavericks

Dallas is caught between a rock and a hard place right now with its player rotations. All of the Mavericks best offensive lineups include future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki. Unfortunately, all of their worst defensive player combinations also include the sweet shooting German.

Nowitzki, who turns 40 in June, never was the quickest of footed at the defensive end of the floor and things have only gotten worse in his advanced playing years. Both the Mavs’ last two opponents have shot better than 50 percent from the field in large part because Nowitzki is still playing a prominent roll in Dallas.
