Toronto Raptors vs. Orlando Magic Spread: NBA Odds, Prediction
The Canadian club hopes to start a new streak beginning on Tuesday in the Sunshine State against an Orlando Magic team that’s become a league doormat.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Toronto lost by seven points as a 6.5-point home favorite and the 132 points it gave up to OKC was a season high. That makes it two straight ATS losses for the Dinos because of the narrow victory against Dallas last Friday.
The Raptors are still first in the Eastern Conference at 52-18 straight up and they’re one of the better options for NBA spread bettors with a season ATS mark at 40-30. The Over is 2-0 in their last two games and 35-34-1 on the campaign.
Orlando is wandering around the last leg of the regular season and stubbing its toes along the way. The Magic are among the five worst teams in the league with a 21-49 straight up mark (33-36-1 ATS). The Under is 6-2 in their last eight games and 40-30 overall.
This is the first of two games the Magic have against the Raptors over their final 12 regular season games. Toronto topped Orlando 117-104 at the Magic Kingdom a few weeks ago.
Toronto Raptors
There were some angry players and coaches in the locker room following the 132-125 setback against the Thunder. Serge Ibaka, DeMar DeRozan and head coach Dwane Casey were all tossed from the game and Kyle Lowry fouled out.
On the bright side, OG Anunoby and Delon Wright are back and both made nice contributions in Sunday’s game. Anunoby started at small forward but Wright played most of his minutes with the starters in crunch time.
Orlando Magic
You know how Major League Baseball lets its teams expand rosters in September to get a look at younger ball players? Well, the Orlando Magic are adopting this strategy. Injuries to starters Evan Fournier and Jonathan Simmons means more minutes for youngsters like Jonathan Issac.
Aaron Gordon is expected to play his first game for Orlando in more than a week because of a concussion he suffered against the Los Angeles Lakers. It’s just the latest setback in an injury-plagued campaign for the explosive forward. Gordon leads the Magic in scoring (18.3 points per game) and is second in rebounding (8.4) is on track to play just 70 games on the year.
