The Raptors are the talk of the NBA among mainstream fans and reporters covering the sport following their 108-105 win over the Houston Rockets on Friday night. Toronto snapped Houston’s 17-game win streak and pushed its own winning run to seven games.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Dinos are 14-1 straight up (11-4 against the spread) in their last 15 games and 48-17 SU (37-28 ATS) overall this season. Friday’s result was the fifth game to go under in Toronto’s last six.
The Knicks are in a voluntary tailspin and have been ever since Kristaps Porzingis went down for the year with a knee injury. New York is 1-10 SU and 2-9 ATS since Porzingis was lost. The club is 24-42 SU and 30-36 on the campaign. The over is 6-2 in the Knicks’ last eight games and 35-31 overall.
The Raptors are 2-1 in their three games against New York this season and the under cashed in each of those contests.
Toronto Raptors
Toronto’s win against the Rockets is not a fluke. It’s true the Raptors do most of their damage against the worst teams in the league. The Reptiles are 28-2 SU in games against teams under .500. But, as the saying goes, they can only play the schedule they’re given. And Toronto is holding its own against the NBA’s best. The Raptors are a combined 6-2 SU and 7-1 ATS against the top three teams in the West and the Cavs and Celtics.
New York Knicks
New York has gone with a youth movement in its starting backcourt. Emmanuel Mudiay, a third-year guard the Knicks picked up from the Denver Nuggets at the trade deadline, is handling the point guard duties and rookie Frank Ntilikina is playing shooting guard. Neither player excels at shooting or knows much about running an effective NBA offense which plays a big part in the Knicks’ struggles.
