Toronto looks to snap a four-game ATS losing streak when it visits Atlanta to face the last place Hawks. Will a matchup against the preseason pick to finish with the worst record in the NBA catapult the Raptors back to their winning ways?

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Raptors are 3-3 straight up and 2-4 against the spread in their last six games after they lost 115-109 as 1.5-point road favourites against a Minnesota Timberwolves side missing all-star Jimmy Butler. Toronto is 8-6 SU and 5-9 ATS over its last 14 games after starting the season 23-8 SU and 19-13 ATS. The over is 7-3 in the Dinos’ last 10 games, 6-0 in their last six road games and 24-21 on the season. The Hawks are short on talent but long on hustle. Atlanta is 14-32 straight up but 25-19-2 against the spread. The Hawks are coming off a 14-point win against the Utah Jazz as 2.5-point home underdogs and are 3-1 SU and ATS in their last four games.

The Raptors are 2-0 SU and ATS against the Hawks this season and outscored them 233-176 in the process. The under went 2-0 in those two previous matchups largely because Atlanta failed to reach triple digits in either contest.

Toronto Raptors

Fouls were a big part of the problem Saturday night for the Raptors when they allowed the Timberwolves 42 trips to the charity stripe. Toronto is 26th in opponent free throw attempts at 24.2 tries per game. The Raps lost despite Kyle Lowry posting his highest-point total of the season by netting 40 points on 14-of-25 shooting from the field. Lowry is averaging 21.3 points while shooting 44.6 percent on 3-point attempts this month.

Atlanta Hawks

The Raptors will need to watch out for Atlanta’s lightning-fast point guard Dennis Schroder. He leads the Hawks in scoring at 20 points per game and is the main playmaker with 6.6 assists a night.  Atlanta’s roster is filled with high-energy players who aren’t afraid to do the dirty work in the paint. The Hawks are 11th in the league in second-chance points and first in points generated off turnovers.
