Toronto Raptors vs. Memphis Grizzlies Point Spread: Odds, Prediction
The Raptors head south seeking to sink their teeth into their former Canadian cousins. The Grizzlies are one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league and will have to slow down Toronto’s high-powered offence if they want to keep things close.
Raptors vs. Grizzlies Spread and Betting Analysis
Toronto enters Memphis as a 6-point favourite on the NBA odds board. The Raps are riding a four-game win streak and owners of a 15-7 mark straight up on the year. The club is 12-10 against the spread while the over is 11-11 in its 22 games this season. The Raptors are averaging 121 points per game during their winning run and the over is 3-1 in those contests.
The Grizzlies ended an 11-game losing streak on Monday when they topped the T-Wolves, but then lost two nights later in New York to the Knicks. Memphis is 8-16 SU and 8-15-1 ATS while the under is 16-7-1 in squad’s 24 contests.
Toronto Raptors
Toronto’s offence doesn’t always look smooth late in tight games or in the playoffs – but things are cooking for the Dinos right now. The Raptors are making 48.7 percent of their shots from the field which is second only to the Golden State Warriors for top mark in the Association.
They are scoring 110.8 points per 100 possessions – fourth best in the league – and are outscoring their opponents by 7.6 points per 100 possessions. That net rating ranks third in the NBA behind only the Warriors and Houston Rockets. It doesn’t mean much unless they can top LeBron James and the Cavs in the playoffs, but right now the numbers tell us the Raptors are one of the league’s elite teams.
Memphis Grizzlies
These are crazy times in Memphis. The majority owner is trying to fend off two minority owners from taking over the team, star point guard Mike Conley is still out injured, and the club recently fired its head coach David Fizdale because he couldn’t get along Memphis’ All-Star centre Marc Gasol.
Fizdale was experimenting with lineups that didn’t include Gasol before he was let go because the Grizzlies aren’t playing well with Gasol on the floor. Memphis’ net rating is -5.2 with Gasol playing and +3.5 when he takes a seat.
