They’ve lost two of their last three games but the respect level for the Toronto Raptors is through the roof across the league right now because of the club’s recent performances. The Dinos look to take a bite out of the Sixers for the fourth time this season when the two sides meet up in Philadelphia for an MLK Day matinee.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Toronto is coming off a 127-125 home loss to the Golden State Warriors but did cover as a 5-point underdog. The squad is 29-12 straight up and 24-17 against the spread and the over is 22-19 in its first 41 games of the season. The Sixers haven’t played since chocking away a 22-point lead against the Boston Celtics on Thursday in a game played in London, England. The result snapped a four-game winning streak for the 76ers and dropped their season record to 19-20 SU and 21-17 ATS. Philadelphia is winless in three games against the Raptors this season and 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games against its divisional rival.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto couldn’t climb all the way back from a 27-point, half-time deficit but it came within a rimmed out DeMar DeRozan 18-footer from taking a lead with less than 40 seconds left in the fourth quarter. In the span of three days, the Raptors smoked the Cleveland Cavaliers by 33 points and nearly rescued a win from the defending champions – all without their starting point guard. Kyle Lowry is questionable to play on Monday against the Sixers after sitting out the last three games with a bruised tail bone.

Philadelphia 76ers

Viewers of this game could catch the first NBA glimpse of Markelle Fultz since October. The Sixers traded up in last year’s draft to take Fultz with the first overall pick only to see him struggle with his reworked shooting form in the offseason and then develop a mysterious shoulder injury. It’s the third year in a row Philadelphia’s top pick in the draft has missed large chunks of their rookie season. Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons but sat out their entire first year in the Association. Fultz’s accurate shooting from distance in college was part of the reason he was considered the top prospect in last year’s draft. Philly could do with a shooter off its bench. The Sixers are 26th in the league in bench scoring with just 16.5 points per game.
