The Raptors and Pistons are both coming in off losses in Milwaukee. Toronto fell 99-85 against the Bucks on Tuesday and Detroit lost 120-127 on Wednesday.

The Raptors are 2.5-point favourites to win on the NBA odds, with the total set at 229.5.

Pistons vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

The Pistons won two of three regular season meetings last year, but overall these teams have evenly split the last 10 head-to-heads. That’s where the parity stops because Detroit is 8-2 against the spread in those 10 games and they are 11-2 ATS in their last 13 against Toronto.

Despite sub-.500 records in the standings, both teams have paid bettors early in the season. The Dinos are a healthy 8-4 ATS and the Pistons are 7-5 ATS. But, while Detroit has covered in two of their last three dates, Toronto has covered the spread just twice on their current five-game losing streak.

The Raptors are likely glad to be home, where they’ve picked up their only two wins of the season (0-7 on the road). They haven’t fared well against Eastern Conference teams, however, dropping seven of their last eight intraconference games.

Detroit Pistons

The Pistons were torched by Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo to the tune of 59 points on Wednesday, the highest single-game mark in the NBA this season. Cade Cunningham led the way for Detroit, dropping 35 points and dishing out 11 assists. Malik Beasley put up 26 points and 10 rebounds. Drafted first overall in 2021, Cunningham has emerged as a star for the Pistons, leading the team in points (23.8) and assists (8.5) per game.

Jaden Ivey (toe) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (head) both missed last game with injuries. Both players are possible to play on Friday, but there’s been no word on their final status.

Toronto Raptors

Gradey Dick scored a career-high 32 points on Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough to get by Giannis and the Bucks. Jakob Poeltl was Toronto’s second-leading scorer with just 13 points, while Chris Boucher had 12. Dick has taken a big leap forward in his second year in the NBA. He sits second on the team with 20.1 ppg, trailing only RJ Barrett at 21.3 ppg.

The banged up Raptors played without Scottie Barnes (orbital fracture) and Immanuel Quickley (elbow) on Tuesday. Barnes returned to practice on Thursday with a mask, but he hasn’t been cleared to return to contact and he’ll be re-evaluated by doctors in a week. Quickley also practiced, but he hasn’t been cleared for contact and there’s no timeline for his return.
