Detroit Pistons vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction, NBA Odds
Detroit has everything to play for in this game, while Toronto has every reason to lose. The Pistons hold the sixth and final guaranteed playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, although they do hold a significant five-game lead over Orlando in the standings. The Raptors, on the other hand, are already guaranteed to miss the play-in tournament, so the more losses they string together, the better odds they’ll have for the draft lottery.
Detroit is an 10.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with the total pegged at 226.5.
Pistons vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds
The Pistons have won five straight games in head-to-head action as they look for the season sweep on Friday. Toronto’s last win against Detroit came at home, all the way back in November 2023.
The Pistons have avoided the play-in tournament in large part thanks to a 10-1 record in their last 11 games against Eastern Conference opponents. That bodes well for their success on Friday, especially considering the Raptors have lost 10 straight games against Central Division teams.
Both teams have benefitted bettors. Toronto is 46-30-1 against the spread and Detroit is 40-34-2. The edge probably goes to the Pistons as they have covered in 13 of their last 16 games against the Dinos.
These teams have evenly split the Over/Under in the last 10 head-to-heads. There’s a slight lean toward a higher scoring game on Friday as the Raptors are 20-18-1 on the Over/Under at home this season, while Detroit is 20-18-1 on the road.
Detroit Pistons
The short-handed Pistons weren’t a match for OKC on Wednesday as they dropped a 119-103 decision. Because of a brawl with Minnesota, Ron Holland II and Marcus Sasser served one game suspensions against the Thunder, while Isaiah Stewart served the first of a two-game suspension. Tim Hardaway Jr. led the way with 23 points, but All-Star guard Cade Cunningham sat out with a bruised left calf. Holland and Sasser are eligible to return on Friday, although Stewart remains suspended. After being listed as doubtful in each of the last five games, Cunningham’s status for Friday has been upgraded to questionable.
Toronto Raptors
Toronto has absolutely nothing to play for at this point and that was very clear in a 112-103 home loss against Portland on Wednesday as head coach Darko Rajakovic leanded heavily on his younger, developing players. As a result, the Raptors’ reserves actually outscored Portland’s 47-14, although the Trail Blazers went with a shorter bench to secure the win. RJ Barrett led the team with 18 points, while Scottie Barnes had just five. Look for players like Jamal Shead, Ja’Kobe Walter and Orlando Robinson to get more minutes throughout the final games of the regular season.
