The Pelicans dropped to 3-27 straight up in their last 30 games overall against the Warriors after Sunday’s blowout loss. New Orleans is still 2-2 against the spread in the series and 6-2 ATS in the playoffs. Golden State was one of the NBA’s worst home bets during the regular season (15-26 ATS) but the club is 15-0 straight up in its last 15 playoff games at Oracle Arena.
The Game 5 Over/Under line (227.5) is five points lower than the line in Game 3 (232.5). The total in Game 3 was one of the highest in NBA playoff history. The under cashed comfortably in Games 3 and 4.
Nearly 65 percent of Sports Interaction bettors are backing the Warriors to cover as 12-point favourites in Game 5 while 69 percent are betting the under on the 227.5-point total.
New Orleans Pelicans
New Orleans shot a season-worst 15.4 percent (4-for-26) on its 3-point attempts in Game 4 and Rajon Rondo and Anthony Davis shot a combined 10-for-32 from the field. Davis, who is normally automatic inside the paint, made just three of his nine attempts at the rim. The Pelicans would have lost either way, but his early missed layups often led to quick buckets the other way for the Warriors.
Golden State Warriors
Bench boss Steve Kerr decided he was done messing around and ran out his best five players to start Game 4. It was the first time all season Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green filled out the starting lineup for Dub Nation. The five-man unit outscored the Pelicans 52-26 in the 18 minutes it played together in Game 4 and finished with 12 assists compared to just one turnover.
