Pacers vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

For the second year of the NBA Cup competition, Indiana and Toronto were slotted in East Group C, but both are eliminated from advancing to next week’s quarterfinals with each at 0-3 in group play – all NBA Cup games count toward the regular season except the championship game.

Milwaukee and Detroit play tonight as well and whichever team wins that game wins East Group C. The loser has a shot at advancing as the top second-place team in the Eastern Conference. The defending NBA Cup champion Lakers already have been eliminated from advancing in the West. And defending NBA champion Boston has completed its group stage play and needs help elsewhere tonight to finish as the East’s best second-place team and move on. The only group winners so far entering the final night are Atlanta (East Group C), Houston (West Group A) and Golden State (West Group C).

The Knicks and Warriors are the +500 favourites to win the NBA Cup. New York would win East Group A tonight with a home victory over co-leading Orlando but would need help to advance with a loss.

This marks the second of three regular-season meetings between the Pacers and Raptors with the last in Indianapolis on Feb. 26. On Nov. 18, Indiana was a 3.5-point favourite at Scotiabank Arena and upset 130-119. RJ Barrett had 39 points for Toronto and Jakob Poeltl 30 points and 15 rebounds.

Indiana is 6-4 SU in the past 10 meetings, but they have split ATS. The over has hit in five straight.

Indiana Pacers

Indiana was a nice surprise last season in jumping to 47 regular-season wins and reaching the Eastern Conference Finals, but you could somewhat see cracks at times and the club has regressed so far this year at 9-12. Point guard Tyrese Haliburton was arguably the story of the first half of the 2023-24 regular season in leading a record-breaking offence, but he and the Pacers really tapered off in the second half last year and that has largely continued this season. Indiana averaged 123.3 PPG a season ago and is down to 114.7 so far this year. All of Haliburton’s numbers are way down: 17.0 PPG on 40.5 per cent from the field and 8.6 assists.

Former Raptor Pascal Siakam has been the team’s best player at 20.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. The team still can’t defend much and is allowing 133.0 PPG during a two-game losing streak. Starting guard Andrew Nembhard, from Aurora, Ontario, returned from a 12-game absence in Sunday’s loss to Memphis but was on a strict minutes restriction. Fellow guard Bennedict Mathurin, from Montreal, has five double-doubles this season – already more than his first two seasons combined. Indiana is 0-7-1 ATS in its past eight games.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto is getting a bit healthier and has won two of three following a 119-116 home upset of Miami on Sunday in the second of a home-and-home vs. the Heat to improve to 5-4 at Scotiabank Arena compared to 1-11 on the road. RJ Barrett was 15-for-20 from the field for 37 points to go with seven rebounds and five assists, while Scottie Barnes had 23 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Sunday marked Barrett’s sixth 30-point game of the year, which is already the third most of his career. Barnes, meanwhile, now has four straight double-doubles.

Toronto has shot at least 50 per cent from the field as a team in back-to-back games for only the second time this season and is 3-3 overall when hitting at least half its shots. Gradey Dick, Bruce Brown, Immanuel Quickley and Kelly Olynyk remained sidelined and only Dick has a chance to return Tuesday with a questionable tag. The Raptors are 6-2 ATS in their past eight games.
