Toronto is playing some of the best basketball in the league right now, but oddsmakers are making it difficult to make a profit backing the club.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Dinos enter Monday’s matchup with the Nuggets riding an eight-game winning streak. They sit in first place in the East with a 20-4 record but are just 12-12 against the spread. Toronto has failed to cover the spread in three of its last four games.

The Raps have played Over the total in five of their last six and the Over is 16-8 in their 24 games on the campaign. Toronto hasn’t had much luck against the number in its recent games against Denver. The Nuggets are 6-0 ATS and 4-2 SU in their last six games against the Raptors.

The Over play tied to Denver games used to be a good strategy for NBA bettors, but that hasn’t been the case this season. The Nuggets are among the best Under bets in the Association with a 7-14-1 Over/Under record.

Denver is among the top teams against the spread so far as well. The Nuggets are 13-9 ATS on the year and a perfect 5-0 ATS during their current five-game winning streak.

Denver Nuggets

Depth is one of the Nuggets’ biggest strengths. They have multiple players on the roster capable of putting up big numbers on a given night. That’s why the club didn’t suffer too greatly after a slow start from Paul Millsap.

The 33-year-old power forward averaged just 12.6 points per game during October and he looked a step slow guarding more agile big men. The former All-Star is starting to pick up his play. Millsap picked up 20-10 stat lines (20 or more points, 10 or more rebounds) in each of last two games.

Toronto Raptors

The San Antonio Spurs have to be kicking themselves for failing to acquire Pascal Siakam in the trade that sent Kawhi Leonard to Toronto and DeMar DeRozan to the Lone Star State. Siakam is enjoying a breakout offensive season and is fourth on the club in scoring at 14.8 points per night.

The Cameroon native was always a fantastic defender but he left Toronto fans wanting more at the offensive end of the floor. He’s doubled his scoring output from his second to third year in the NBA and defenders can no longer ignore him on the perimeter. He’s shooting 34.9 percent from deep and 78.2 percent from the charity stripe.
