Nuggets vs. Mavericks Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread

This could be a close game, as both teams will look to take the series edge in their third of four meetings this season.  The home team has lost both previous meetings in the season-series as the Nuggets grinded out a tough 107-106 victory in Dallas on Jan. 8, avenging a Mavericks’ 109-106 win in Denver back on Oct. 29.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Both teams are coming off average 5-5 stretches in their last 10 games.  The Nuggets come into Dallas after a 109-95 home win against the league-best Milwaukee Bucks, while the Mavericks have dropped their last two.

Look for a high-scoring game, as the over is 6-1 in the Mavericks last seven home games.  The over has also gone 7-3-1 in the Nuggets last 11 games playing on one day’s rest.

The Nuggets are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games, while on the flip side, the Mavericks are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games as a home favourite of 0.5-4.5.

Denver Nuggets

Although the league-leading Bucks were missing Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Nuggets victory on Monday night was still a statement win, led by Paul Millsap’s 20-point, 10-rebound double-double.  Millsap was helped out by Jamal Murray, who dropped 21-points of his own.

Nikola Jokic is leading the way this season with a team-high 20.3 points per game, 10.2 rebounds per game and 6.8 assists per game.

Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks will most likely continue to drive the offense through Luka Doncic, who leads the team in points with 28.5 per game and assists with 8.7 and is tied with Kristaps Porzingis with 9.4 rebounds per game.

While they sit well back, in seventh place, in the Western Conference, the Mavericks still hold a comfortable 6.5 game lead over the next closest team behind them, Memphis. Barring a disaster, they have a playoff spot locked up, but they most likely will not be happy until they catch Houston, who sits one game up on the Mavericks.  If the playoffs were to start today, the Mavericks would play a powerhouse Clippers team, led by Kawhi Leonard.  As most of the NBA found out last year, you do not want to face the Klaw in the playoffs, which Mavericks fans hope is enough motivation for the team to start winning again.
