Nets vs. Warriors Point Spread: NBA Odds, Prediction
The Golden State Warriors just suffered their second loss of the season on Thursday when the Milwaukee Bucks waltzed into Oracle Arena and smoked them 134-111. Worse yet, they lost Steph Curry to a groin strain and they were already without Draymond Green. The Warriors are not fully healthy for this upcoming game against the Brooklyn Nets. Will it matter? Brooklyn won consecutive games earlier this week and is showing signs of playing better.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Warriors got crushed by the Milwaukee Bucks at home on Thursday, their first loss of the season at home and their second overall. They are 10-2 against the spread this season, 6-1 ATS at home.
The Nets are 6-5 against the spread this season despite their 5-6 overall record and 2-4 road record. They have played a number of games close but not won them outright.
Brooklyn Nets
The Nets flourished on Tuesday in Phoenix. The spanked the Suns, 104-82, running away with the game in the fourth quarter. The Nets led by 10 after three quarters but outscored the Suns 28-16 in the final stanza. Caris LeVert led all Nets with 26 points.
The Nets hit 45 percent of their field goals, but hit only 9 of 36 tries from the three-point line. Brooklyn held Phoenix to 35 percent shooting, 36 percent from three. A key was that the Nets turned the ball over only 10 times while forcing 20 Suns turnovers. The Nets also grabbed four more offensive rebounds 13-9, so they earned a lot of extra possessions against the Suns.
The Nets have a game Friday night in Denver against the Nuggets, so this game against Golden State will be the back end of a back-to-back set for Brooklyn. The Nets are 2-4 straight up on the road this season, not counting what they do in Denver Friday night.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors did not have Draymond Green on the court for their Thursday night game against the Milwaukee Bucks and it showed. Green was out with a sprained toe and he’ll be out again on Saturday. The Bucks hit 52 percent of their field goals and committed only 12 turnovers while grabbing 13 offensive rebounds, and scored at least 32 points in each of the first three quarters, 41 in the third, and took a 26-point lead into the fourth quarter. They cruised to a 134-11 victory over Golden State. Now Golden State will be down two All-Stars for Saturday’s contest.
The Warriors didn’t play anyone more than 33 minutes (Klay Thompson) against the Bucks, and Kevin Durant (31) was the only player other than Thompson who logged over 30 minutes. Steve Kerr went deep into his bench and is likely to do the same thing against the Nets on Saturday. The Nets can’t be overlooked right now as they have won three straight. However, it’s hard to see Golden State losing back-to-back games at Oracle Arena.
