The Raptors return home after winning three of four on their West Coast road trip to face the not-as-bad-as-they-should-be Brooklyn Nets.

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Toronto improved to 18-8 straight up following Wednesday’s victory over the Suns in Phoenix, but the club failed to cover as 12-point away chalk. It was the Raps’ fourth failed cover in their last six games and dropped their ATS record to 14-12 on the year.

Brooklyn lost 111-104 to intercity rival New York on Thursday night. It was the Nets’ 10th ATS loss in 27 games this season and just their third failed cover in their last 10 games. The Raptors are 8-0 SU and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against the Nets. Nearly 90 percent of Sports Interaction bettors expect Toronto to cover as double-digit chalk on Friday night.

The Nets are +350,000 longshots to win the Atlantic Division on the NBA odds board, while the Raptors sit at +500 behind the favoured Boston Celtics (-833).

Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn is among the best ATS bets this season – which is surprising considering the squad is missing both members of its starting backcourt. Jeremy Lin was lost for the year in the first week of the season and D’Angelo Russell – the player the Nets acquired in an offseason trade with the Lakers – has been out for weeks after having surgery on his knee.

Head coach Kenny Atkinson keeps his team playing hard despite a lack of talent on the roster. The Nets had been playing at the fastest pace in the league over the first month of the season, but have dropped back in recent weeks. The under is 7-2 in their last nine games.

Nets fans are hoping to see recent acquisition Jahil Okafor on the court in the coming games. Okafor – the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NBA – was traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Nets last week but still hasn’t seen any action on the court for Brooklyn.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto’s offence got back on track after a poor showing against the Los Angeles Clippers earlier in the week. The Raps point up 115 points on the scoreboard against the Suns and had three starters go for 20 or more points. Starting centre Jonas Valanciunas is showing good signs after an early season ankle injury slowed his progress. Valanciunas has produced back-to-back games with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds.
