Brooklyn is a 4-point favourite to win on the NBA odds with a total of 233.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Nets took the only other meeting between these teams this season. Kevin Durant had a game-high 34 points in a 122-116 home win on January 12.
Brooklyn has struggled lately, going 5-5 straight up over their last 10 games. For the season they’re 33-34 against the spread, but they’ve only covered in one of their last five games. The total has gone Under in five of Brooklyn’s last six games overall and five of their last six games on the road.
The Nuggets have officially clinched a playoff spot and are 10-3 SU over their last 13 games. They’re 32-35 ATS and they’ve covered in four of their last five games against Eastern Conference teams. The total has gone Under in five of Denver’s last seven games.
Brooklyn Nets
The Nets have struggled on their current road trip and with two losses against the Bucks, they won’t win a tiebreaker against Milwaukee. Defence is what is hurting Brooklyn right now. Injuries seem to be causing some chemistry issues among players and this team has given up an average of 120.5 points a night over their current four-game losing streak. The Nets will need a better performance from Durant than he had in a 113-109 loss to Dallas on Thursday. Durant had 20 points and nine rebounds, but he was an abysmal 1-of-10 from the field in the second half. KD did, however, put up 34 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds in the last game against Denver.
Kyrie Irving seems to be the only Brooklyn player performing well during this losing streak. Irving had a season-high 45 points against the Mavericks on Thursday and he’s averaging 32.8 points, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals over the last four games. He didn’t play in the first game against Denver, so it will be interesting to see how he matches up here.
Denver Nuggets
Despite injury issues, the Nuggets have rolled off 10 wins in their last 13 games as they head into the final home game of their regular season. Since Jamal Murray’s season ended with a a torn ACL, Michael Porter Jr. has stepped up. Porter Jr. is averaging 24.8 points on 56.6 per cent shooting in 13 games since Murray’s injury and he’s a big reason Denver will avoid the play-in tournament. He dropped 31 points and six rebounds in the Nuggets’ 127-120 loss to league-leading Utah on Friday. Austin Rivers is also seeing more minutes. Rivers finished with 25 points against the Knicks on Wednesday and 18 points in the Utah game.
Nikola Jokic’s consistency has been key for Denver all season, as he’s the only player to start in all 67 games. The MVP-favourite just missed finishing with a triple-double on Friday after putting up 24 points, nine rebounds and 13 assists. Jokic has easily been the Nuggets’ best player this year and leads the team in points (26.4), rebounds (10.9), assists (8.5) and steals (1.4).
