NBA: Knicks are Linsane if They Think They can Beat the Heat

Al Dannity has fallen in love with Linsanity but even he has his limits. The Knicks bring their exciting brand of Basketball to South Beach tonight to take on Miami. Here’s why Al doesn’t expect them to come out with the W.

Lin keeps on getting better Jeremy Lin just keeps proving the doubters wrong. Questions over his high minutes and soft schedule contributing to his stats have now been put to rest. The Knicks’ wins over Dallas and Atlanta proved Lin could get the job done against elite opposition. These displays boosted Lin’s PER to #8 in the NBA, putting him squarely amongst the biggest names in the game today. Furthermore Lin has also shown a significant improvement in the area of greatest concern, turnovers. After giving up 16 turnovers against the Hornets and Mavs, Lin has only turned the ball over 7 times in his last two games. All of this is tremendous news for NBA Basketball betting fans. There’s just one reason why I don’t think it will make a difference tonight.

Have you seen the Heat? It looks like the Miami Heat team we thought we would see last year has finally come together this season. The Heat enter this game on a seven game winning streak, having won all of those games by double-digits. King James and his court don’t just beat opponents, they humiliate them. Miami won by 20 at Atlanta, 15 at Indiana, and by 12 at home to the Magic. All three of those teams will probably be in the playoffs and they were no match for Miami’s onslaught.

While Lin has done remarkably well to boost his PER, it’s Miami that sets the standard in efficiency. LeBron James tops the table and Dwayne Wade is at #2. Both of these superstars have continued to light up the NBA with their scoring feats. Linsanity may be the headline story in February but there’s one team nobody wants to face come the playoffs.

The verdict This is the last game for both teams heading into the All Star break and Miami’s stars will be looking to make a statement. Look for the Heat to go after Lin early. It’s a big number tonight but the double-digit winning streak for Miami can’t be ignored. Humble as D-Wade was when asked about Jeremy Lin ahead of this game, do you really think he and LBJ are happy with somebody else getting all this attention? You may not like the Heat but they know how to command your respect. School will be in session in South Beach. I like the Heat to win big.
