Lakers vs. Spurs Point Spread: NBA Odds, Prediction
LeBron James and Co. have won seven of their last nine games and find themselves just two games back of the top spot in the Western Conference standings.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Purple and Gold are flying high these days and enter Friday’s matchup as the owners of a four-game win streak. The Lakers are 15-9 straight up but just 10-13-1 against the spread on the season.
Public bettors love backing La-La Land and LeBron, and oddsmakers know this. Los Angeles has closed as chalk in 19 of its last 22 games. Sports Interaction opened with the Spurs as 1-point favourites in this game, but the line could close with the Lakers giving points.
San Antonio is going through a rough patch in what looks like the last days of the Gregg Popovich career. The longtime head coach is trying his best, but the lack of talent looks like it’ll keep the Spurs out of the playoffs for the first time in more than 20 years.
The team is 3-7 SU in its last 10 games and only the Phoenix Suns own a worst record in the Western Conference. The Over is 9-0-1 in the Spurs’ last 10 games and they’re one of the safest total wagers in the Association with a 16-8-1 Over/Under record.
Los Angeles Lakers
LeBron James is in pursuit of his ninth straight trip to the NBA Finals but Laker fans shouldn’t start making travel arrangements for June just yet. Los Angeles is the sixth favourite at +1800 at Sports Interaction.
One bit of worry for LA backers: Brandon Ingram – the team’s third-leading scorer – injured his ankle on Wednesday night and is considered questionable to play on Friday.
San Antonio Spurs
A suffocating defence used to be the calling card of Popovich-coached teams but the Spurs rank second last in the league in defensive rating. They’re allowing 113.4 points per 100 possessions.
NBA reporters feared the worst for San Antonio before the start of the new campaign – particularly when starting point guard Dejounte Murray was lost for the year because of an ACL tear. DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge are legitimate star players but there are few other players on the roster that merits a mention.
