Two struggling teams will meet in the Hoosier State Wednesday night as the L.A. Lakers travel to Indiana to face the Pacers.  Los Angeles is playing the second half of a back-to-back after falling 106-100 to the Knicks in New York on Tuesday.  The Pacers have won two straight, capped by a 109-77 dub in Chicago on Monday, but they still sit near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.

Indiana is a 2.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with a total of 217.0.

Lakers vs. Pacers NBA Betting Odds

It wasn’t much of a season series last year, with L.A. winning both meetings to snap a three-game losing streak against the Pacers.  Sports Interaction bettors don’t see this being a repeat of last year, however, as 86 per cent of action is taking Indiana.  About 67 per cent of bettors are taking the Over.

Los Angeles hasn’t been good on the road this season.  The Lakers are 2-5 away from Staples Center (soon to be Crypto.com Arena, yikes) and they’ve lost four of their last five games overall.  They’re 6-13 against the spread for the season and they haven’t covered in their last five games in Indiana.  The total has gone Over in six of L.A.’s last nine games.

The Pacers have been better at home this season where they’ve gone 5-2 compared to 3-9 on the road.  They’re 10-9 ATS and have covered in five of seven home dates.  Dating back to last season, Indiana is 11-2 ATS in their last 13 home games.  The total has gone Under in nine of the Pacers’ last 11 games this year.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers got a little preview at life without LeBron James on Tuesday, although at his age and recent health, he likely would have only played once in L.A.’s back-to-back anyway.  James was suspended one game for hitting Detroit’s Isaiah Stewart in the face and drawing blood in Sunday’s win over the Pistons.  He will be back in the lineup against Indiana.  The Lakers were also almost missing Anthony Davis as well.  Davis (flu) was a game-time decision and reportedly showed up to Madison Square Garden less than an hour before tip-off.  He finished the game with 20 points, six rebounds and three assists.  Russell Westbrook led the team with 31 points (game-high), 13 rebounds and 10 assists.  There’s been no word on Davis’ status for Wednesday, while Trevor Ariza (ankle), Austin Reaves (hamstring) and Kendrick Nunn (ankle/knee) have all been ruled out.

Indiana Pacers

Indiana crushed the Bulls on the road on Monday, using a 14-0 first quarter run to build a big lead early.  The Pacers led by as many as 35 in the game.  Domantas Sabonis had a game-high 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Malcolm Brogdon had 16 points and seven assists.  Brogdon averages team-highs in points per game (20.9) and assists (6.1).  Sabonis is averaging 17.9 ppg and has team-highs in rebounds (11.1) and steals (1.3).  T.J. Warren continues to recover from foot surgery and is expected to be out until at least December.  Warren hasn’t played this season and missed all but four games last year.
