Knicks vs. Nets Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread
The Nets have reeled off four consecutive victories to keep pace with the Philadelphia 76ers atop the conference standings, and are comfortable favourites Monday against a Knicks team clinging to one of the final playoff spots in the East.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Nets got off to a slow start from an ATS perspective, but those rough times are well in the rearview. Brooklyn is an incredible 11-2 against the spread over its previous 13 games, while also going a sizzling 12-1 SU over that stretch. The Knicks, however, have been no slouches themselves, riding a 10-4 ATS mark over their previous 14 games. And the Knicks have had the upper hand in the recent series, having covered four of the past five meetings.
The Sports Interaction crowd is all over the favourites here, taking the Nets at a 78-percent clip. And the total trend is even more emphatic, with 92 percent of participants siding with the O225 (which carries identical -110 odds as the Under). The Knicks have cashed the Over in six of their previous seven games overall, but are 3-7 O/U in their last 10 away from Madison Square Garden. The Nets come in having gone 6-3 to the Under in their last nine outings.
New York Knicks
The Knicks sit just one win shy of the 21-victory season they stumbled to last year – and they’d love nothing more than to get that victory against their arch-rivals in hostile territory. But they’ll be severely hampered in the backcourt, with starting point guard Elfrid Payton (hamstring) listed as doubtful and backup Derrick Rose (quarantine) still out. That leaves the primary ball-handling duties to the young duo of Frank Ntilikina and Immanuel Quickley.
Brooklyn Nets
Kevin Durant remains out indefinitely with a hamstring injury, but the Nets haven’t missed a beat in his absence. James Harden has effectively moved past whispers about his conditioning and attitude while with the Houston Rockets and comes into Monday’s game with MVP-calibre averages of 25.3 points, 11.2 assists and 8.8 rebounds. His Brooklyn resurgence has helped the Nets average 120.2 points per game on the season, the highest in the league.
