Jazz vs. Warriors Point Spread: NBA Odds, Prediction
Utah has covered in four of its previous five visits to Oakland, and trounced the Warriors 110-91 in their last trip there back in March of 2018. But Golden State is on a run of its own, with 14 wins in its previous 15 games.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Warriors are comfortable favourites in this one, but a closer look at the trends suggests that this line might be skewed a bit too much in their favour. They’re just 4-12-1 ATS in their previous 17 games at Oracle Arena, and a dismal 6-15 ATS in their last 21 games against Northwest Division opponents. The Jazz, in addition to having fared well against the spread in recent visits to Oakland, are a perfect 5-0 ATS in their past five vs. Pacific Division adversaries.
While a whopping 84 percent of Sports Interaction bettors favour the home side in this one despite the prevailing trends, the total of 227.5 presents an interesting dilemma. Utah is 5-1 O/U in its past six overall and has converted the over four straight times following a SU victory. And the Warriors are 8-3 to the over in their last 11 vs. the West. But these teams have 14 unders and one push in their previous 21 encounters at Oracle Arena.
Utah Jazz
Since kicking off the season 14-17, the Jazz have been on fire, winning 18 of their past 25 games to shoehorn themselves into the West playoff picture. And as you might expect, Utah is doing it with defence, having surrendered the third-fewest points in the NBA over that span (104.9) while limiting opponents to the second-lowest field-goal percentage (44.0) and the eighth-fewest rebounds per game (43.3).
Golden State Warriors
One look at DeMarcus Cousins’ raw numbers might leave fans underwhelmed – but rest assured, the superstar big man has filled his role with the Warriors to near-perfection. Cousins is averaging 14.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists, modest numbers on their own – but quite impressive when you consider that he plays just under 23 minutes per game. His Player Efficiency Rating of 20.97 ranks third on the team behind Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.
