Two championship calibre teams are set to go head-to-head Wednesday night in Los Angeles as the Lakers play host to the Miami Heat.  Dealing with injury issues, L.A. currently sits in the middle of the pack in the Western Conference, while Miami is tied for the lead in the Eastern Conference.

The Heat are 4-point favourites to win on the NBA odds, with a total of 213.5.

Heat vs. Lakers NBA Betting Odds

These teams are only one season removed from meeting in the 2020 NBA Finals, which the Lakers won in six games.  Miami got the upper hand last year though, sweeping the two-game season series.  These teams have generally alternated between the Over and Under over the last 10 games or so.  Just under 75 per cent of Sports Interaction bettors are backing the Heat in this one, while almost 80 per cent of the action is taking the Over.

Miami has had a bit of a stumble, dropping two of three games since their five-game winning streak was snapped.  They’ve been a great cover option this year, going 7-3 against the spread overall.  They’re an even 5-5 on the Over/Under, but it’s worth noting the Over has hit in four of their last five games.

The Lakers have been comfortable at home this year where they’ve won five of their last six games.  They’re just 3-8 ATS and have only covered in two of eight home games.  The total has gone Under in four of L.A.’s last six games.

Miami Heat

The Heat have hit a mini skid since their five-game winning streak was snapped.  Miami won each of those five games by at least 13 points, but they’ve now dropped two of their last three games by 17 points.  They’re coming into Wednesday fresh off a 113-96 loss in Denver on Monday.  Jimmy Butler led the way for Miami, finishing with a game-high 31 points to go along with five rebounds and eight assists.  Butler leads the team in scoring, averaging 25.3 points per game.  Tyler Herro (20.3 ppg) and Bam Adebayo (18.3 ppg, 11.3 rebounds) have also been big pieces this year.  Herro (back) and Adebayo (knee) are questionable to play Wednesday, while Markieff Morris (neck) is out after an altercation with Denver’s Nikola Jokic.

Los Angeles Lakers

Los Angeles was able to pull out a 126-123 overtime win against Charlotte on Monday despite the absence of LeBron James.  Anthony Davis finished with a game-high 32 points and team-high 12 rebounds.  Triple-double King Russell Westbrook also had a big night, putting up 17 points, 12 rebounds and 14 assists.  Davis is averaging 23.9 ppg and leads the team with 11.1 rebounds.  Westbrook is averaging 18.8 points and leads the team with 8.5 assists.  James, who is averaging a team-high 24.8 points, will miss his fourth straight game with an abdominal injury.
