Grizzlies vs. Warriors Point Spread: NBA Odds, Prediction
The Grizzlies have allowed the second-fewest points per game in the league, but that lockdown defence was absent in a 117-101 loss to the host Warriors back on Nov. 5. Golden State has won five of six, scoring more than 125 points three times in that span.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Warriors are no strangers to double-digit spreads in their favour – and they’ve come through for bettors for the most part, going a sizzling 8-2 ATS in 10 games when giving 10 or more points. That includes a 16-point win over Memphis last month, a narrow cover as a 14-point favourite. The Grizzlies, on the other hand, have just two covers and one push in its previous six games as a road underdog of 10 or more points.
You won’t see the Warriors rocking a total as low as 210.5 at home all that often, and for good reason. Golden State home games feature an average of 228 points, with the Warriors averaging 115.9 points at Oracle Arena. They’ve also gone 5-1 to the over in their last six games after failing to cover last time out. But the teams have converted the under in four of their past five meetings overall, and seven of their last 10 in Oakland.
Memphis Grizzlies
How can the Grizzlies hope to keep up the Warriors despite averaging the fewest points per game in the league? Improving their 3-point shot is a good place to start. Memphis ranks 26th in long-range shooting at 33.7 percent; it’s the lowest success rate of any Western Conference team. The Grizzlies are also a below-average unit from the free-throw line, shooting just 73.6 percent – good for 22nd overall. Only four Western Conference teams have shot worse.
Golden State Warriors
It might not matter how good the Grizzlies are on the defensive end Monday night – the Warriors have shot well from just about everywhere. Golden State is the only team in the league ranking in the top three in field-goal shooting (49.0 percent, No. 1 overall), 3-point success rate (39.3 percent, second) and free-throw shooting (82.3 percent, tied for third). Yet, despite that hot shooting, Golden State is just 8-18 O/U in its past 26 games vs. West opponents.
