Here’s something you haven’t hear much this season: the Toronto Raptors actually won their last game! The Dinos snapped a five-game losing skid with a 104-101 victory over the visiting Golden State Warriors on Monday, but still sit a ridiculous 9.5-games back of the Eastern Conference’s final play-in spot.

It’s obviously a different story in Boston, with the defending NBA champion Celtics sitting second in the conference following a 120-119 home win against the lowly Pelicans on Sunday.

Boston opened as a heavy 11.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds.

Celtics vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

This head-to-head series has been a bloodbath in recent years, with the Celtics winning 10 straight games. Toronto hasn’t even been able to take shelter on home court as Boston has won 12 of their last 13 games at Scotiabank Arena.

This is the third of four meetings between the teams this season. The Celtics opened the season series with a 126-123 overtime win at home in November before smashing the Raptors 125-71, again at home, on New Year’s Eve. The series wraps up February 26 in T.O.

Don’t let Monday’s win fool you, the Raptors are playing putrid basketball. Toronto has just two wins in their last 18 games overall and two in their last 11 at home. Meanwhile, Boston has the third-best road record in the NBA this season at 14-4.

One area the Dinos outperform their Bostonian counterparts is as a cover option. Toronto is a healthy 23-17 against the spread overall, including 14-7 ATS at home. The Celtics are 16-23 ATS overall, although they’ve managed to cover in half of their 18 road games.

Boston Celtics

It wasn’t pretty, but Boston avoided a loss to one of the worst teams in the NBA on Sunday. The Celtics won despite hitting just one of their first 11 three-point attempts and finishing the game shooting just 43.6 per cent overall from the floor. Jayson Tatum (38 points, 11 rebounds) and Kristaps Porzingis (19 points. 11 rebounds) led the way. Tatum is currently fourth in NBA scoring with 28.1 points per game.

There’s a bit of concern in Boston right now as they are clearly playing below their championship standards. Entering Sunday’s game against New Orleans, the Celtics were just 5-5 over their last 10 games and a one-point home victory over the worst team in the Western Conference doesn’t exactly scream “we’re out of our slump!”

Toronto Raptors

Scottie Barnes had a solid outing against Golden State, finishing with a team-high 23 points and landing a key block on former teammate Dennis Schroder. Chris Boucher also looked good with 18 points, while RJ Barrett ran into foul trouble and saw limited minutes, finishing with 15 points. Barrett, who averages a team-high 22.4 points per game this season, has been great at home with 26.4 ppg, so look for him to bounce back on Wednesday.

The Raptors have been one of the most banged up teams in the league this season and that will continue against Boston. Immanuel Quickley, who missed Monday’s game against the Warriors, will also be out Wednesday with what has been described as a left hip/groin strain. After signing a five-year, $175 million deal with Toronto, Quickley has been limited to just nine games this season because of various injuries. He’s averaging 16.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game while shooting 37.6 per cent from the field and 33.3 per cent from three-point range.
