Bucks vs. Pistons Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread
The second half of the season opens up for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in Detroit where they take on the sputtering Pistons. Motor City is catching the most points in a game on its home court this season, but that might be enough to tempt bettors to back a rebuilt Pistons lineup.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Bucks entered the break head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the league with a 46-8 straight up record. They’re among the best spread bets in the Association too with a 57.4 ATS win rate.
Milwaukee hopes to bounce back from a 118-111 loss it suffered just before the All-Star break. The result snapped a five-game SU and ATS win streak. The Bucks are 26-9 against the number in their last 35 games coming off a loss.
Mike Budenholzer’s crew has a knack for destroying Detroit. The Bucks are 10-0 SU and 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games against the Pistons with five of those ATS wins coming as double-digit chalk.
Milwaukee remains the favourite to win the 2020 NBA title at Sports Interaction. The Bucks are priced at +250 to lift the Larry O’Brien Trophy – meaning a $100 bet on the Bucks would pay $250 if they were to finish the season as champions.
That’s not the only hardware the sportsbooks expect Milwaukee to take home this season. Antetokounmpo is the runaway favourite to win the 2020 NBA MVP award at -400. The Greek Freak is the league’s reigning Most Valuable Player and seems to be a shoe-in for the honour again this year.
The Pistons come into Thursday’s contest the losers of four straight games and eight of their last 10. They’re destined to complete another year without a postseason appearance.
Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks welcome back Giannis to the fold after he sat out the last two games leading up to the All-Star weekend. The Greek Freak is second in the league in scoring (30 ppg), fifth in rebounding (13.5 rpg) and first in Player Efficiency Rating (32.29 PER).
Milwaukee picked up Marvin Williams just before the break after the veteran wing was bought out by the Charlotte Hornets. It’ll be interesting to see if Williams makes the regular rotation for the Bucks come playoff time.
Detroit Pistons
Blake Griffin is out injured for the year; Andre Drummond was shipped to Cleveland at the trade deadline; and Reggie Jackson was recently bought out by the Pistons. The missing trio misses a lot of new faces getting a lot of minutes in Detroit.
