The Milwaukee Bucks have followed up their eight-game winning streak by dropping back-to-back contests against the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks. On Monday, they’ll try to get back on track against the Los Angeles Clippers in what could very well be an NBA Finals preview.

The Clippers had been in a funk where they went just 5-8 in a 13-game span, but they’ll enter this game riding a five-game winning streak. What’s the best bet for this showdown?

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

While the Bucks have been winning plenty of games of late, they haven’t been reliable against the spread. They haven’t covered the spread in three straight games and have dropped the ball versus the number in eight of their last 11.

The Clippers are 26-20-1 against the spread on the season, but those numbers have seen a big boost of late. They’ve covered the spread in five straight games (during their five-game winning streak). The over has hit in three of their last four.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks are coming off a couple of disappointing results. On Friday, they came up just short to the Boston Celtics, which ended the team’s eight-game winning streak. On Saturday, they decided to rest everyone of significance and not surprisingly, lost to the New York Knicks. We’ll see if they can get the band back together on Monday and collect an important win.

The Bucks have mostly been a middling team this season up until about the last month or so. They were 16-13 in the middle of February but a stretch of 13 wins in 14 games has shot them back up the standings. Of course, Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the way but there’s a solid cast with Khris Middleton (20.5 points per game) and Jrue Holiday (15.9) offering support. Their defence hasn’t been great this year – they still allowed 112.0 points per game during their 14-game hot streak – but their offence has been on fire. They averaged 120.7 in that span, which was the best in the league in that time frame. They might need to approach that number on Monday to get the win.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers-Bucks game is off the board early as we’re not exactly sure if any stars will get the night off. If not, the Clippers will put their Big Two out there as Paul George and Kawhi Leonard have been playing of late with no issues. The Clippers made a move at the trade deadline to acquire Rajon Rondo and he should be able to get on the court for this one. It’ll be interesting to see this team play with a facilitator as there’s plenty of scoring around.

Kawhi Leonard has had a pedestrian month overall but he’s come to life of late, scoring 25+ in each of his last three games. He’ll be integral here at both ends of the court. The matchup with Giannis will be worth the price of admission alone.
