Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Toronto Blue Jays 2025 MLB World Series Preview and Prediction
For the first time in 32 years, the Toronto Blue Jays are back on baseball’s biggest stage, and they’re about to run into a machine. The Los Angeles Dodgers, fresh off a sweep of the Brewers in the NLCS and looking to repeat as champions, arrive rested.
The Blue Jays’ contact-heavy, opportunistic offence takes on the Dodgers’ power arms and bats. Canada’s lone club has already slain the Yankees and Mariners; now they’ll have to solve Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow. The Rogers Centre will be electric, but this might be one mountain too high.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Toronto Blue Jays 2025 MLB World Series Odds and Betting Trends
Oddsmakers at Sports Interaction have the Dodgers installed as -220 favourites to win the Fall Classic, with the Blue Jays priced at +180 to pull the upset. Bettors expect a tight series, with Over 5.5 total games priced at -165.
Los Angeles has won nine of 10 playoff games this October, posting a ridiculous 1.40 ERA from its starting rotation. Meanwhile, Toronto’s bats have averaged 6.5 runs per game in the postseason, the highest mark among playoff teams. Something’s got to give.
No surprise, Shohei Ohtani (+165) and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (+600) lead the clubhouse in World Series MVP odds.
Los Angeles Dodgers
It’s hard to overstate just how dominant the Dodgers’ pitching has been. In 64⅓ postseason innings, their starters have allowed just two home runs and held opponents to a .132 average. Roki Sasaki has turned into a sorely needed relief ace, recording the final out in five of L.A.’s playoff wins.
Offensively, Los Angeles hasn’t been at its best, batting just .223 as a team, but it hasn’t mattered. Mookie Betts has started to find his rhythm, Max Muncy continues to deliver in clutch spots and Freddie Freeman lurks in the heart of the order.
The Dodgers will almost certainly need more consistent fireworks on offence to repeat as champions, however. They have won with layers of pitching and opportunism. If Betts or Muncy get hot, one of them could easily steal MVP honours from the headline names like Ohtani or Freeman.
Toronto Blue Jays
It’s been a storybook October for Toronto, led by Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who’s hitting a staggering .442/.510/.930 with six home runs. After years of postseason frustration, he’s finally delivered, to this point.
Toronto’s newest weapon is rookie starter Trey Yesavage, who has been fearless against big bats, and the unsung hero of their playoff run has been Ernie Clement, delivering key hits from the bottom of the order and flashing elite defence.
Still, the bullpen remains the concern. Louis Varland has pitched in nearly every game this postseason, and that workload could catch up. Against a patient Dodgers lineup, the Jays’ relievers will have no margin for error.
MLB World Series Prediction: Who Will Win Dodgers vs Blue Jays?
The Jays have the bats to make things interesting, and Guerrero may well homer his way into a few highlight reels, but over seven games, the Dodgers’ depth should prevail. Their rotation is the best in baseball, and with a new-look bullpen, anchored by Sasaki, they should be able to shut the door more often than not.
For both teams, however, the bullpen is the weakest link, so we could see plentiful late-inning scoring in this series, setting up quite the dramatic conclusion to this season.
While the pesky Blue Jays may frustrate the Dodgers’ pitching staff some with constant contact, we like the Dodgers’ patient offence to be a difference-maker, grinding out long at-bats.
Dodgers in six feels like the sweet spot: the Jays take one at home, steal one on the road, and the Dodgers close it out back in Toronto, and order is restored.
