2026 Toronto Blue Jays: Here’s the Opening Day roster
The Toronto Blue Jays Opening Day roster is set.
The Jays announced their 26-man Opening Day roster on Wednesday as they prepare to begin the defence of their American League pennant on Friday at home against the Athletics.

Roster moves
Toronto also made a number of moves regarding injuries and assignments.
Pitchers Jose Berrios (elbow), Trey Yesavage (shoulder), Shane Bieber (elbow), Yimi Garcia (elbow) were all placed on the 15-day injured list retroactive to March 22. Outfielder Anthony Santander (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list.
The final cuts were right-hander Chase Lee, who was sent to Triple-A Buffalo, as well as right-hander Angel Bastardo and infielder Leo Jimenez, who were each designated for assignment.
Opening Day roster
After falling to the Dodgers in Game 7 of the World Series, the Blue Jays front office was aggressive in the off-season. They signed starter Dylan Cease to a franchise-record seven-year, $210 million contract and he will make his Toronto debut on Saturday.
The Jays also won the bidding for international free agent Kazuma Okamoto, a six-time All Star in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball. Okamoto signed a four-year deal worth $60 million.
