Saskatchewan Roughriders QB Trevor Harris to Have Knee Surgery
The injury occurred in the fourth quarter of Week 6’s bout at home to the Calgary Stampeders. QB Trevor Harris scampered for a first down. He was eventually tackled but fell in a visibly awkward fashion on the play. The diagnosis is a tibial plateau fracture.

Roughriders QB Trevor Harris’ Knee Injury
Without getting too technical, a tibial plateau fracture involves cartilage damage on the shin bone on the knee point. No cartilage, no fun.
It goes without question that the quarterback requires surgery to have his leg repaired. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are not saying that Harris’ 2023 campaign is over, but no time table for a return has been set, which alone suggests this will be a long-term issue.
Backup QB Mason Fine gets the call for now. In 2022 he partook in six contests, completing 67 of his 102 pass attempts for 690 yards and an average of 6.8 yards per completion. He threw three TDs against three INTs.
To add insult to injury – no pun intended – the Calgary Stampeders scored a dramatic, last-play field goal to win the match 33-31. The loss dropped Saskatchewan to 3-2 and, by the same token, improved divisional rival Calgary to 2-3. It was the second time this season that the clubs engaged in a bitterly close contest that went down to the wire.
