Roughriders vs. Lions Prediction: CFL Week 7 Point Spread, Odds
The Riders saw a four-game season-opening win streak halted by last weekend’s 24-10 home loss to Calgary and are now deadlocked with the Stampeders atop the CFL West standings with a 4-1-0 record. The Lions return home after tallying a 32-14 victory in Edmonton last weekend to extend their current win streak to two games but remain two points back of Saskatchewan, which also holds one game in hand.
The Lions lead the way as 2.5-point favourites on the CFL Week 7 odds. The Roughriders trail as +125 underdogs on the CFL moneyline and the total is pegged at 52.5.
CFL Week 7 Odds and Betting
Saturday night’s matchup is the second of three scheduled meetings this season between these CFL West rivals. The Roughriders rolled to a dominating 37-18 victory when they hosted the Lions three weeks ago and have outscored BC by an average margin of 25 points in two straight head-to-head wins. The Lions have held the edge on home turf at BC Place, where they have won three in a row over the Riders including a pair of victories by double-digit margins, but have been a massive betting disappointment while failing to cover in six of seven overall versus Saskatchewan. Despite the Lions’ offensive woes in their past two dates with the Riders, CFL betting fans taking the OVER have enjoyed payouts in four of the past five clashes between these teams.

Saskatchewan Roughriders
Trevor Harris set a franchise record in last week’s date with Calgary, but it wasn’t enough to avoid the team’s first defeat of the season in a 24-10 loss. The Roughriders veteran quarterback completed 27 of 30 passes for 327 yards over the final 30 minutes to establish a new team record for most completions in a half. Harris’ performance allayed any fears about the concussion that had sidelined him in the previous two weeks, and lifts him to the top of the CFL stats with a completion percentage of 75.8% and has also averaged 307.8 passing yards per game, second in the CFL. Despite Harris’ prolific second-half performance, the Riders offence failed to get going versus Calgary, with the ground game generating a meagre 16 total yards and the team turning the ball over on downs in the red zone on two occasions after the break.
BC Lions
The Lions have snapped out of a three-game slide with back-to-back road wins over Montreal and Edmonton but have a mountain to climb against a surly Riders squad eager to atone for a subpar performance in last week’s loss to the Stamps. The return of quarterback Nathan Rourke from injury has energized this team. Rourke missed two games with an oblique injury but has been at the helm for the squad’s two recent victories, averaging 38.5 passing yards in those contests including a 345-yeared, one-TD performance versus the Elks. Keon Hatcher emerged as Rourke’s favourite target last week, pulling in nine passes for 130 yards, and now ranks second in the CFL with 516 receiving yards. James Butler also enjoyed another big day, rushing for 172 yards and one score, and now leads the CFL with 474 rushing yards.
