Let’s get right into it with some betting picks based on the biggest storylines for each Week 6 matchup.

Ottawa RedBlacks at Edmonton Elks

Ottawa is the last remaining winless team in the CFL and things won’t get any easier as they hit the road to take on the 3-1 Edmonton Elks.

The RedBlacks’ record isn’t necessarily reflective of how they have played as they’re coming off back-to-back one-possession losses against Montreal and Saskatchewan.

The Elks just suffered their first loss of the year in B.C. last week, but they should have plenty of confidence in this one after beating Ottawa on the road in Week 1. The CFL’s leading rusher, Justin Rankin, was the catalyst for that victory, finishing with 196 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown.

Pick: Justin Rankin Over 90.5 rushing yards (-125)

Toronto Argonauts at Winnipeg Blue Bombers

The Argos and Bombers are both looking for their third win of the season, but it’s Toronto’s offence that comes in hotter.

The Argonauts have scored at least 30 points in all four games this season backed by quarterback Chad Kelly, who leads the league in passing yards (1,484) and passing TDs (12). However, Kelly has also thrown eight interceptions, twice as many as the next closest quarterback.

Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros was knocked out of last week’s win in Hamilton, so it’s worth monitoring his status ahead of kickoff. The Bombers will once again need to lean on their defence, which is holding opposing quarterbacks to just a 66.1 completion percentage, the lowest mark in the CFL.

Pick: Chad Kelly Over 340.5 passing yards (-105)

Calgary Stampeders at Montreal Alouettes

Vernon Adams Jr. was a human highlight reel in Calgary’s blowout win over Toronto last week, throwing for 405 yards and a ridiculous six touchdowns while adding another score on the ground. The Stamps put up 58 points against the Argos and now lead the league with 41.0 points per game.

Montreal will counter with their own dynamic pivot in Davis Alexander. Behind Alexander, the Als are the third-highest scoring team in the CFL (33.3 ppg), while the Montreal quarterback hasn’t thrown an interception in his last 274 pass attempts, the second-longest streak in league history.

Pick: Game total Over 62.5

Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Saskatchewan Roughriders

Hamilton suffered a tough blow last week with quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell suffering a potentially season-ending ankle injury in a loss against Winnipeg. Tre Fod and Jake Dolegala each took snaps in place of Mitchell and the Ti-Cats also signed Jarret Doege, so they’ll have plenty of options under centre.

At the other end of the field, Riders quarterback Trevor Harris will play his 200th career CFL game. The 40-year-old hasn’t slowed down, ranking third in the CFL in both passing yards (1,418) and passing TDs (10) while throwing only two interceptions.

Pick: Trevor Harris Over 2.5 passing TDs (+135)
