When Conor McGregor unceremoniously tweeted his intention to retire three days ago, the MMA world and it’s fans exploded. Was he really retiring? Was it a publicity stunt? Was he leaving to join the WWE? Was this the result of a volcanic blowout with Dana White? Was he just adding another nugget to his endless trove of quotable quotes?
Today, in a lengthy Facebook post, Conor McGregor decided to make things a little more clear. Conor McGregor is not retiring, he’s just annoyed at all the press he has to do. He is still open to fight Nate Diaz in UFC 200, if the Ultimate Fighting Championship will still have him.
“I am still ready to go for UFC 200. I will offer, like I already did, to fly to New York for the big press conference that was scheduled, and then I will go back into training. With no distractions. If this is not enough or they feel I have not deserved to sit this promotion run out this one time, well then I don’t know what to say. For the record also – For USADA and for the UFC and my contract stipulations – I AM NOT RETIRED.”
UFC 200 Odds
Since the UFC hasn’t officially responded, our odds for the UFC 200 fight between McGregor and Diaz are closed, but will re-open as soon as confirmation is received.
