Vince Neil Arrested for DUI
An update in the turbulent world of celebrity arrests: Vince Neil just added himself to the exclusive Celebrity DUI Club (again). Police were on the hunt for the 49-year-old Motley Crue singer in Las Vegas after he allegedly smashed a woman’s camera after she took a picture of him. When his car was spotted, cops pulled him over and found that he was in trouble for a lot more than busting some tourist’s camera. Earlier in the evening, Neil had reportedly been hanging at his Las Vegas restaurant, Vince Neil’s Tres Rios, located in the Las Vegas Hilton.
Neil’s fourth wife, Lia Gerardini, who he married in 2005 in a ceremony officiated by fellow Surreal Life cast member, MC Hammer, told TMZ Neil had been sober for three years. Gerardini is currently en route to Vegas to bail Vince out. He is currently in custody at Vegas’ Clark County Jail, where his bail has been set at $2,000.
This isn’t Neil’s first brush with the law by any means. In 1984 Neil pleaded guilty to DUI and vehicular manslaughter in the death of musician Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley. In 2002, Neil pleaded no contest to assaulting a music producer outside a Los Angeles nightclub. In 2003, Neil again pleaded no contest after he allegedly grabbed the throat of a prostitute and threw her against the wall at the Moonlite BunnyRanch. In 2004, Neil was also accused of knocking out a nightclub employee after a disagreement over sound levels during a concert.
When not being busted for various offenses, Vince invested in multiple business ventures including “Vince Neil Ink” tattoo parlors, a strip club, Cabo Wabo Cantina restaurant chains, his private charter jet “Vince Neil Aviation,” a limited edition Petite Sirah through EOS Estate Winery as well as Tres Rios Cantina. On June 22, he released “Tattoos and Tequila,” his first solo CD in fifteen years.
Neil has also suffered a great tragedy in his life. In 1995, four-year-old Skylar Neil, the daughter he had with his second wife, Sharise Ruddell, died of Wilms’ Tumor, a childhood cancer of the kidneys. Neil holds an annual Off the Strip Poker Tournament to benefit the Skylar Neil Memorial Fund and the T.J. Martell Foundation.
With Neil’s long rap sheet, will the judge throw the book at him for his latest infraction? Sports Interaction has celebrity DUI odds.
