CFL Week 7 Power Rankings: Winless RedBlacks hit rock bottom
We’re six weeks into the 2026 CFL season and the gap is widening in the standings.
While Montreal, Saskatchewan and Edmonton all sit at 4-1, the teams in the middle and bottom of the standings are growing further apart. No team represents that gap more than the RedBlacks, the last remaining winless team this year.
With injuries starting to take their toll, let’s go over the updated power rankings heading into Week 7.

1. Montreal Alouettes
Record: 4-1
Week 6 result: W 37-30 vs. CGY
Week 7 opponent: @ CGY
The Montreal Alouettes’ offence continues to torch the league behind the dynamic duo of Davis Alexander and Tyson Philphot. Alexander sits second in the CFL with 1,779 passing yards, while Philpot is averaging just under 150 receiving yards per game.
2. Edmonton Elks
Record: 4-1
Week 6 result: W 40-17 vs. OTT
Week 7 opponent: @ BC
The Elks did what they do best last week, smothering Ottawa with strong defensive play and slowing down the game with the run. Edmonton won the turnover battle 4-1 led by Kordell Jackson’s two interceptions. Justin Rankin finished with 107 rushing yards and three total TDs.
3. Saskatchewan Roughriders
Record: 4-1
Week 6 result: W 38-7 vs. HAM
Week 7 opponent: Bye
You wouldn’t think a 31-point blowout win would be sloppy, but that’s how it worked out for Saskatchewan last week with Trevor Harris throwing two interceptions. The defence saved the day with four turnovers, including Josh Woods’ 107-yard interception return for a touchdown.
4. Calgary Stampeders
Record: 2-3
Week 6 result: L 37-30 @ MTL
Week 7 opponent: vs. MTL
Calgary fell in a tough road outing in Montreal last week, but there are positives to take away. Vernon Adams Jr. still hasn’t thrown an interception this season and Dejon Brissett has four rushing TDs over his last two games.
5. Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Record: 3-2
Week 6 result: W 30-21 vs. TOR
Week 7 opponent: @ OTT
The Bombers prevailed without Zach Collaros in Week 6. Dru Brown provided immediate help after Winnipeg traded for him two weeks ago. Brown completed just over 80 per cent of his passes for 339 yards with one touchdown and one interception to stabilize Winnipeg’s offence.
6. B.C. Lions
Record: 1-3
Week 6 result: Bye
Week 7 opponent: @ EDM
The Lions had a break last week after finally securing their first win of the season two weeks ago against Edmonton. B.C. will follow the same game plan as they travel to face the Elks in a Week 7 rematch.
7. Toronto Argonauts
Record: 2-3
Week 6 result: L 30-21 @ WPG
Week 7 opponent: @ HAM
Toronto still hasn’t played a home game this season because of the World Cup and Chad Kelly, who leads the league in passing yards (1,804) and passing TDs (14), has made his frustration vocal. Unfortunately, Kelly’s frustration has also been evident on the field where he has thrown a CFL-high eight interceptions.
8. Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Record: 2-3
Week 6 result: L 38-7 @ SSK
Week 7 opponent: vs. TOR
The Ti-Cats are still reeling from the potentially season-ending injury of Bo Levi Mitchell and it showed in last week’s blowout loss in Saskatchewan. Jake Dolegala wasn’t the answer at QB with just 122 passing yards and a 107-yard pick-six.
9. Ottawa RedBlacks
Record: 0-5
Week 6 result: L 40-7 @ EDM
Week 7 opponent: vs. WPG
It’s only getting worse for the winless RedBlacks. Head coach Ryan Dinwiddie ripped his punter after a Week 5 loss which did not galvanize his players, while quarterback Jake Maier said he doesn’t know how to turn the team around after throwing four interceptions in a blowout loss against Edmonton.
