NFL Preview: Eagles Meet Redskins on Monday Night Football
Donovan McNabb was all smiles when he led the Redskins to victory in the Linc earlier this season. Al Dannity doesn’t like McNabb’s chances of completing the sweep in FedEx Field.
Vick will fly
Monday Night Football offers Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles a chance for revenge against the Washington Redskins. Vick was knocked out of the game when Washington won at the Linc earlier this year. That didn’t sit well with Eagles’ fans, especially as Donovan McNabb earned a win over his former employers. Don’t expect a repeat performance when these teams meet on Monday.
McNabb has, inevitably, got into a dispute with his head coach. Mike Shanahan benched McNabb for Rex Grossman on the advice of his offenseive coordinator in the Redskins’ loss to Detroit. That would be enough to annoy McNabb but given Washington’s offensive coordinator is also Shanahan’s son Kyle, well it’s fair to say McNabb thinks he isn’t getting enough respect.
I expect Vick to play a smart game on Monday, only running when necessary but still doing enough with his feet to keep the defense guessing. The gulf in talent between the Eagles and Redskins is substantial and, injuries permitting, this game shouldn’t be close. Look for Philadelphia to expose the holes in Washington’s defense repeatedly on Monday night. Bet on the Philadelphia Eagles as -3.0 favorites with Sports Interaction.
Normal service to resume for Colts
The T.Ocho show has floundered in 2010. After doing everything he could to bring Terrell Owens to Cincinnati, Chad Ochocinco has failed to deliver his end of the bargain. T.O. has dominated opponents throughout the season, wholly justifying the Bengals’ decision to sign him. Unfortunately for Cincinnati fans, nobody else is performing. Ochocinco is amongst the chief culprits for a 2-6 start to the year, having simply not been enough of a factor for the Bengals’ offense.
The Colts will need to keep slip-ups to a minimum if they are to keep their string of 12 win seasons going. Last week’s outing against the Eagles was not Indianapolis’ finest hour but they should get back on track this Sunday. The Bengals defense simply aren’t intimidating enough to stop Peyton Manning and the Colts’ offense. This should be an easy day at the office for Indianapolis and a seventh loss of the year for Cincinnati. Bet on the Indianapolis Colts as -7.0 favorites with Sports Interaction to win big at home.
