The Hokies hope to continue their dominance of the ACC title game this Saturday while Nebraska are aiming to finish off their stay in the Big 12 by taking the conference championship.
Huskers will finish on a high
Bo Pelini is mad as hell and he’s not going to take it anymore. The Nebraska coach seems convinced there is a conspiracy within the Big 12 to deny his team the conference title. On Saturday he gets a chance to end the Cornhuskers’ stay in the Big 12 on a massive high. Nebraska meet Oklahoma, their rivals from the old Big 8 conference, in their last conference game before bolting for the Big Ten next year.
Pelini would likely be better served avoiding the officials and channelling his inner Herb Brooks in order to get his troops ready for Saturday’s match-up. The Sooners are a remarkable team on paper but they have slipped enough this season to show they are beatable. Nebraska’s two losses this season came in games where their offense failed to fire. I don’t see that happening against a far from elite Sooners’ defense. Taylor Martinez is listed as day-to-day for this game, which will concern some College Football betting fans. Hokies will keep Seminoles dreams in check
Since joining the ACC in 2004, the Virginia Tech Hokies have dominated the conference. The Hokies won the ACC at their first attempt and have racked up two more conference titles since. On Saturday they will look to add another title to Frank Beamer’s resume when they face Florida State in the ACC Championship Game.
On paper this shouldn’t really be a contest. The Hokies went 8-0 in conference play while the Seminoles stumbled to the ACC Coastal title, relying on a NC State loss to Maryland to send them to the title game in Tampa. While Virginia Tech’s ACC record is flawless, their style is not. NC State’s Russell Wilson showed it is possible for a quarterback to have success against the Hokies’ defense when the Wolfpack went down 41-30 in October.
Christian Ponder has a better arsenal at his disposal than Wilson and should be able to ensure Florida State make a fight of this game. I don’t think it will be enough to deny Virginia Tech another ACC title but it should make for an interesting match-up. Bet on the Virginia Tech Hokies as -4.0 favorites with Sports Interaction.
