Emma Roberts Arrested for Domestic Violence

Actress Emma Roberts, daughter of Eric and niece of America’s sweetheart Julia Roberts, was not so sweet on July 7 when she was taken into police custody in Montreal on a domestic violence charge. Police were called to a hotel room after a witness reported a fight. Police arrived to find Roberts’ boyfriend Evan Peters with a bloody nose and a bite mark. Peters, 26, is a TV actor, currently starring in American Horror Story.

The police arrested Emma, 22, on the spot because of Peters’ injuries, but sources close to Roberts deny that she bit him. Only a few days ago, the actress’s fans were gushing on Twitter over her new blonde look, but now the tweets about Roberts are shocked and disgusted. The couple’s PR has gone into damage control mode, issuing a statement to Us Weekly: “ It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it.” Roberts was quickly released after being questioned because Peters had declined to press charges.

TMZ has posted photos of Roberts in Beverly Hills since her arrest. Taken about a week after the incident, the photos showed Roberts with a bandage on her elbow and bruises on her legs. Representatives of the couple have not commented on the nature of Emma’s injuries.

A source told Us Weekly that Emma can become “wound up” during arguments and that the incident at the hotel room was “way out of control”. Another source said that “Their romance is pretty extreme. They just behave in a way that’s very passionate.”

The couple most recently made a public appearance at the premiere of The Lone Ranger. They are now reported to be back at work on American Horror Story. Roberts is set to appear alongside Jennifer Aniston in the upcoming comedy We’re the Millers.
