Buccaneers vs. Cardinals Point Spread: Week 6 Odds, Prediction

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arizona Cardinals have both alternated wins and losses every week of the season. However, that trend will change as both teams are coming off a loss. The Bucs fell to the Patriots in a stinging 19-14 last Thursday. Now they’re on the road in Arizona – a tough place to play – and the Cardinals have gotten a boost with the acquisition of Adrian Peterson.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Arizona Cardinals

Point Spread: Tampa Bay -2.5
Date: Sunday October 15th, 2017 – 4:05 PM ET
Location: University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Arizona

Point Spread And Betting Analysis

The Bucs opened up as a two-point favorite in this spot but bettors have been all over them to push the line to 2.5. The SIA betting trends show that 75% of all bets on the spread has been on Tampa Bay. As for the total, 86% of the bets have been on the over at 44.5. It seems like the early consensus is that Tampa Bay wins a high-scoring affair.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Winston completed 26-of-46 attempts for 334 yards and a touchdown in last week’s loss to the Patriots. While his numbers don’t look terrible on paper, it’s the missed chances throwing downfield that did. Winston missed several open receivers downfield and it ultimately cost Tampa Bay nearly as much as the three missed field goals by Nick Folk. Speaking of Folk, the Buccaneers brought in six kickers to work out this week and will likely have a replacement ready for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.

The good news for Tampa Bay is that they’re on the road facing a struggling Cardinals team. Yes, the Cardinals are 2-3, which gives the impression that they’re mediocre but keep in mind that their two wins – against Indianapolis and San Francisco – were nail-biters in overtime. Their three losses have all been by double-digits. The Cards are a couple of plays away from being 0-5, so it’s not likely that Adrian Peterson helps them a lot.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals inability to protect Palmer has been a major issue for their offense. They’re hoping that Peterson can provide some offensive balance but there are questions as to what he has left in the tank. He’ll be running behind a shaky offensive line. The lack of consistency on offense has led to the Cardinals defense being overwhelmed. Arizona ranks 27th in the NFL with an average of 25.0 points allowed per game this season.

Not surprisingly, the team is dead-last in the NFL with just 259 rushing yards on the year, which boils down to 51.8 per game. If Peterson doesn’t help the Cards out in this realm, they’re likely heading for another loss.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Arizona Cardinals Prediction:

Tampa Bay 24, Arizona 20
