Deep Stack Charity Classic Will Return to Daytona Beach Kennel Club with Phil Hellmuth

The Daytona Beach Kennel Club and Poker Room in Florida will be welcoming the sixth annual Deep Stack Charity Classic poker tournament this spring. On April 27 the event will kick off and over $70,000 in prizes will be awarded. The popular tournament, presented this year by Daytona Toyota and DeLand Kia, has sold out for the past four years.

This year the charity event features several big name poker players, including Phil Hellmuth, Barry and Allyn Jaffrey Shulman of Card Player, ESPN’s Norman Chad, and the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Greg Merson.

This year the event planners will reward every player at the final table with a Las Vegas trip for them and their guests. The players will participate in the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza. The winner will be awarded a package valued at over $11,000 including the $5000 buy-in for the Venetian Deep Stack main event. Last year the Venetian Extravaganza awarded a first place prize of $1.2 million.

Players enter the Deep Stack Charity by paying a $195 donation, which also gets them a dinner from Carabba’s Italian Grill, and entry for door prizes and a raffle for more prizes. If you’re interested in joining the tournament, you’ll want to register right away. The official website promises that they will sell out, and if you act quickly you can save $25 from the entry fee.

The Deep Stack Charity Classic benefits the Congregation B’nai Torah, a charitable organization that supports humanitarian projects and promotes volunteerism. They finance an annual Walkathon that supported the Food Bank with over 22,000 meals last year, and also support the United States Armed Forces, Disabled American Veterans, and other worthy causes, so this poker event is clearly a win-win.
