The New York Rangers have dropped two in a row to put a pause on what was a really good stretch of hockey. On Monday night, we’ll find out if the two losses were just a quick blip on the radar or if they team had previously been overachieving. The Rangers are favored against the Ottawa Senators, who come into the game having lost three straight and seven of 11.

Senators vs Rangers Betting Analysis

Ottawa plays well in this series as they’ve won eight of the last 12 meetings between the teams. They have also won 29 of their last 45 visits to Madison Square Garden. However, the Rangers have won four of the last six.

The Rangers are just 3-6 against teams with a losing record and 5-4 at home when the total is 6 or more.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators have dropped three in a row as their defense and goaltending have collapsed. The doors have been blown off the barn as they’ve allowed 19 goals in those three contests. It seems like that’s a frequent occurrence for this team, though, as they’ve allowed at least five goals in five straight losses and looking further back, they’ve allowed at least four goals in all of their losses this season. They’re allowing an average – yes, an average – of 4.35 goals per game. They’re the only team in the league allowing more than 3.65.

What’s kept the Sens afloat is their offence, which is ranked third in the NHL with 3.61 goals per game. The good news in this matchup is that the Rangers offence has cooled off. The Rangers have scored just three goals in total in their last two games and have been held to three or fewer in three of their last four games.

New York Rangers

Although the Rangers have lost two straight, they have won nine of their last 13 games overall. They’re getting some quality goaltending from Henrik Lundqvist these days as he’s gone 5-1-1 in November with a 2.45 GAA and a .924 save percentage. Craig Anderson will be at the opposite end of the ice and Anderson has a lousy .899 save percentage on the season. His numbers are much worse on the road where he is 2-4-1 with a 4.59 GAA and a .884 save percentage. The Rangers should have a huge edge in net.

The Rangers have been a good bounce-back team this season as they are 5-3 after giving up four goals or more in their last game. They lost 5-3 to Washington on Saturday, so this could be a good opportunity for them to get back on track.
