The Boston Bruins are coming off a dramatic 4-3 comeback win over the Florida Panthers to extend their point streak to 18 straight games (16-0-2). The Sens have been heading in a completely opposite direction as they’ve lost nine of 10. Add it all up and the Bruins – at -450 – are one of the biggest favorites we’ve seen in an NHL game in a long time.
Senators vs Bruins Betting Analysis
The Senators are just 9-23-1 on the road so far this season and 1-5 in their last six against Atlantic division opponents. They’ve also dropped five of their last six road games versus teams with home winning percentages greater than .600 this season.
Boston is 26-7-2 on home ice so far this season. The Bruins are 7-0 in their last seven games playing on one day of rest and 4-0 in their last four contests versus Eastern Conference opponents. Specifically the Senators, the Bruins are a perfect 3-0 against them this season.
The Sens were already bad but a fire sale at the trade deadline has completely sunken their season. They were 19-24-5 at one point this season but have just four wins in their last 20 games. Ottawa hasn’t beat a team with a winning record since it shocked the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 in overtime back on February 16th.
After moving Matt Duchene, Mark Stone and Ryan Dzingel at the trade deadline, there isn’t much left on their roster to compete the rest of the way. Now the Senators will travel to play in another tough building against a Boston team that has been absolutely on fire over the past couple of months.
The Bruins are rolling right now following a 4-3 win over the Panthers. Boston scored two goals in the final few minutes to keep its streak alive with a big win on home ice. The Bruins are now 5-0 on their current home stand and will look to for the clean sweep of that home stand on Saturday.
The scariest part about the Bruins’ dominance is the fact that they have done it without one of their best players in David Pastrnak, who has scored a team-high 31 goals this season. It shouldn’t matter too much against Ottawa as the Sens have been giving up goals by the bushel. Ottawa has allowed an average of 4.5 goals per game over their last six.
The Bruins are very likely to win but this is a crazy moneyline to be betting. Instead, over might be a wiser player as we should see plenty of scoring. Or if you are betting Boston, a better strategy might be to use them in a moneyline parlay so the juice doesn’t hurt you so much if they lose.
