Feel good overtime finals were on full display on Tuesday night. Los Angeles left Vancouver with a big fourth frame win while the Oilers shut out the Dallas Stars in extra time too. Edmonton will now look to move three wins ahead of the last place Kings on home ice.

Edmonton enters the Thursday nighter as the -149 straight up favourite. It’s a spot where they’ve found quite a bit of success over the past few seasons. The Oilers have gone 23-10 in their last 33 Thursday night matchups and this one has 24-10 written all over it – if they play their cards right.

Edmonton Oilers
After (yet another) rough start to the season, Edmonton relieved Todd McLellan of his head coaching duties last week and brought in Ken Hitchcock to take the reigns. Since the firing, the Oilers have gone 2-1-1 with their lone loss coming on Sunday to – who else – the L.A. Kings.
The Kings embarrassed Cam Talbot 5-2 and could get another shot at the shaky Oiler ace again. If they do, this game could be Talbot’s last shot as top dog too as Mikko Koskinen continued to impress posting his second shutout on Tuesday. For the Oilers to win this game, they’ll need to get their star Connor McDavid moving. The captain only has two assists in their last three games.
