Jets vs. Kraken NHL Betting Odds

This is the third of four regular season meetings between the teams with the Jets and Kraken splitting the first two games. It’s been a very tight head-to-head series over the last two years as five straight games have been decided by a single goal. Winnipeg is 5-2 in the all-time series and the total has gone Under in four of those seven games.

The Jets’ quest to overtake Dallas for top spot in the Central Division has been boosted by their recent run of nine wins over their last 12 games. They’ve been a weaker cover option on the road this season, where they are 15-15 against the spread compared to 18-13 ATS at home. Goals have come easily for Winnipeg lately, with the Over hitting in seven of their last 10 games.

Seattle’s on a strong run that has seen them win four of their last five games. They’re 36-26 ATS overall, including 16-14 ATS at home. The Over has hit in six of the Kraken’s last eight games overall and four of their last five against Western Conference opponents.

Winnipeg Jets

Winnipeg outshot the Kraken 33-24 on Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough to get the win. Kyle Connor, Adam Lowry and Nino Niederreiter each found the back of the net, while Mason Appleton recorded a pair of assists. Connor leads the team with 26 goals despite missing 16 games with a knee injury earlier in the season. Vezina Trophy favourite Connor Hellebuyck made 20 saves in the loss.

There’s a flu bug going around the Jets right now, so there could be some late scratches. Hellebuyck is reportedly dealing with the illness so he’s listed as questionable, but he will have to start either Friday in Seattle or Saturday in Vancouver. Hellebuyck is 29-13-3 with a 2.29 goals-against average and .922 save percentage this season. Backup Laurent Brossoit is 10-4-2 with a 2.24 GAA and .921 SV.

Seattle Kraken

The Kraken capitalized in a variety of situations against Winnipeg on Tuesday, with Justin Schultz and Tomas Tatar each scoring a goal in regulation, while Andre Burakovsky added a power play marker and Jared McCann scored short-handed for the second straight game. McCann also added two helpers and Joey Daccord made 30 saves. It was a massive win for Seattle as they now sit tied with Calgary and St. Louis in the standings for a spot just outside of the second wild card position in the Western Conference. Vegas currently has a six-point lead on the Kraken, Flames and Blues for the final wild card spot.

Daccord, who is 17-12-10 with a 2.47 GAA and .918 SV, will likely take a backseat to Philipp Grubauer on Friday. Grubauer is 10-10-1 with a 2.76 GAA and .902 SV and although he’s struggled at times this season, he’s looked better lately, winning his last three games when facing 30 or more shots.
